Don't know this particular one but it is possible the driver software did not install correctly.

Plug it into the US port and restart your system.
This may force Blindows to 'see' it and install a driver or ask you for one.

Internal card reader does not recognize SanDisk 4GB SDHC card

Try going to Start>Control Panel>Dbl. click System>Under System Properties>Click Hardware>Device manager> check your "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" and make sure there are no yellow exclamation logos. If there are, your going to have to download their perspective drivers to get them to work. But I seriously doubt that is the problem! One way to make sure that it's not your computer, is to take the SanDisk card to another computer that has an internal card reader, like maybe the library or a friend and see if it works on their computer. If it does work, then it's your computer's card reader- bus controller! If it doesn't work, then it's the card that is faulty! Good luck!

Computer does not recognise that there is a CDR built in, there is no drive shown in (my computer) Also not in registry , CDR is Philips Model No: CDD4801/65 Manufactured: May 2001 part no:...

Check to make sure the MB IDE bus sees the drive by going into your Bios setup.

If the system does not see it there, I would check your connections to the drive and MB.

If it doesn't see it in the bios, it won't see it in the OS.

I bought a Sandisk Extreme lll SDHC card , that came with a reader ( ImageMate 8 in 1 SDDR-88) I cannot get this reader to work properly..I am using Windows XP. I apparently, do not need to update or...

It rather sounds like you're inserting the card after inserting the reader into the PC... am I wrong?

As long as the device is detected in the Device Manager (system properties), it should be fine.

Insert the card first, then insert the USB reader. From there, check that you get a drive-letter. If you do, great.. if it's brand new, it may require formatting the disk before you can open it and start putting things on it or using it in a camera.

When you say "no files are detected", i'm assuming you don't simply mean "there are no files already on the SD card"... because that's normal if it's new. =-]

Is there a service or method of repair for sandisk cruzer 4GB drives that aren't recognised by the computer

#1 try a the key on a different system or ensure a known good key works on this one, sometimes there are drive letter conflicts prevent the key from being assigned a drive letter.

#2 like system RAM and other memory type devices, there is no repair if the device is not functioning. They are pretty much a toss on fail item, costs more to repair then replace.

4. Removing DVD rom. opening it up manually and cleaning the lens with cotton( this tedious for novice users.. instead give it to servicing shop)

Sandisc micro SDHC card

you can try going to the web site I post and downloading updated drivers.
To do this,,just find the product part number on the card (it will be SDxx-xx) (xx's fill in blanks with your part number), then search this list of drivers for the part number that corresponds to your part number and download that driver making sure to select the correct operating system.
