Ceiling design Plank and beam with pitch

I'm going crazy. I almost have my kitchen design done but can't figure out how to draw an exposed ceiling beam that slopes with the roof pitch. Likewise with crown molding that slopes with roof pitch at top of the wall at ceiling. I cannot find any info. in the book manual or the help index on my Punch home design platinum version. HELP

Depending on your version you should be able to go to OBJECTS and add faux wood beams to the plans, which should slope automatically once added. This is how we spec faux beams on our projects. http://www.owtraditions.com

I am not sure what Punch Plat you are using, however these are some notes and solutions that may help
1 - Crown moldings in Punch don't slope
2 - Ceiling beams --> check your Power Tools--> If your version has the Celing designer, you can use this tool to create the beams--> or use solution # 3
3 - Ceiling beams --> you can cevelop them in the 3D Workshop Power Tool --> set the pitch--> texture as necessary
4 - You will find ready to use beams in --> Obejcts--> Faux Wood beams

I have a Minerva 44" Fan. I have Vaulted Ceilings with a 12-12 pitch. The down rod is 3/4 in. What slope ceiling adapter is recommended ?


Mike, a 12/12 pitch is 45 degrees. You may have to use a little math to figure out how far down to hang the 44" fan to keep from hitting the angle of the ceiling. Geometry specifically. Remember the A sq + B sq = C sq for figuring the hypoteneuse of a right triangle?? If the ceiling fan is 44", the base (A) of the right triangle is 22" with NO CLEARANCE to the angled ceiling. A 45 degree angle dictates the base and the height are equal, so height (B) of the triangle is also 22" with NO CLEARANCE. If you want a few inches of clearance, extend the height by 4" and there should be enough clearance to allow the fan operation.

I would suggest playing with the figures before you buy the extension rods though. The simple answer to you question remains however...45 degrees.

This is for a Ricoh copier. You did not indicate machine.

The LD unit home position sensor does not detect an on condition while changing the LD unit position for correcting the LD position or changing the DPI.

5.4.3 LASER BEAM PITCH ADJUSTMENT
There are two laser beam pitch adjustment procedures: one for 400 dpi, and one
for 600 dpi. These adjustments use the following SP modes.
· SP2-109-1: Laser Beam Pitch Adjustment - 400 dpi
· SP2-109-2: Laser Beam Pitch Adjustment - 600 dpi
· SP2-109-3: Laser Beam Pitch Initial Setting - 400 dpi
· SP2-109-4: Laser Beam Pitch Initial Setting - 600 dpi
· SP2-902-2, no.12: IPU Test Pattern - Cross Stitch - 400 dpi
· SP2-902-2, no.13: IPU Test Pattern - Cross Stitch - 600 dpi

1. Perform SP2-109-8 (Beam Pitch Data Reset).

2. Input the value for 400 dpi that is printed on the LD unit into SP2-109-1.
Use the value printed after "P" on the new LD unit as shown below.
NOTE: Do not use values printed after a "V".

(These value numbers are on a sticker inside the machine with a UPC code on it. The numbers are just under the UPC barcode. And example number looks like this: "15980300151P: 120, 172", so the example 400 dpi value here is "120".)

3. Press the "Enter" key.

4. Perform SP2-109-3.

5. Print the 400-dpi test pattern onto A3 (11"x17") paper using SP2-902-2 no.12
(cross stitch). (See Service Tables - Test Pattern Printing - Section 4.2.3, pasted below.)

6. Write the value of SP2-109-1 on the test pattern which was input at step 2.

7. Change the value of SP2-109-1 and print another test pattern, repeating steps
2 to 5. Print about 5 patterns with different values for SP2-109-1 (e.g. "48", "96",
"192", "240").

8. Check this test pattern. If the laser beam pitch is not correct, the image looks
like a black vertical stripe pattern.
NOTE: If the laser beam pitch is correct, the vertical stripe is not so noticeable.
If the value is not correct, the vertical stripe pattern is darker.

9. Adjust the laser beam pitch position until the thin lines are of uniform thickness
(no striping effect should appear on the printout), doing steps 2, 3, and 4. (In
step 2, input a value which is estimated to be correct, then do steps 3 and 4,
then if necessary go back to step 2 and try another value.)

10. After adjusting the laser beam pitch for 400 dpi, adjust the laser beam pitch for
600 dpi, using the same procedure as for 400 dpi (use the SP modes for 600
dpi).

NOTE: Do not operate the machine until the test pattern is printed out completely.
Otherwise, an SC may occur.

1. Access the SP mode which contains the test pattern you need.

3. Select the paper size.

4. Press the "Start" key to print the test pattern.

5. After checking the test pattern, exit copy mode by touching the "SP Mode" key.

These adjusments listed in the manual require removal of a service panel and mechanical adjustment of the laser mounts, so it should be done by a qualified technician.

However, these test procedures can indicate whether or not this is the problem with your printer.

I want to install a ceiling fan. My ceiling is 80 year old lathe and plaster design. Will the vibration from fan movement cause my ceiling to crack?


mcdevito75 here, Hopefully your ceiling fan will go where there has been an already light fixture, if so, that light fixture shoud be mounted to the ceiling beam, and your new fan will be mounted the same way. If by chance your new ceiling fan is being mounted where nothing was ever mounted you"ll have to make sure the ceiling fan will mount to a beam, they are every 16 inches apart. This way you:"ll know that vibration from the fan won"t hurt anything.

Supporting a load bearing wall


The floor/roof loads above will be a bigger unknown than the ceiling itself. The wall MAY be replacable with properly sized beam/column combinations but you will need to have a design professional look for adauate footing size, calculate floor loads (and roof loads if any), and size the beam/column system to support ALL of the loads now carried by the wall. If you have access to the origional floor and roof framing plans they will be a great help, otherwise someone will need to do some investigating to make thoes design judgements.
In 23 years working as a building inspector I'v seen way too many structural problems caused by inadaquate beam installations, Its worth the time and money to do it right.

Low beam head lights are dim only have 5.9 volts at head lights high beams work fine have 11.8 volts to them.


Sounds like a bad ground. Using a test light, figure out which of the wires going to the bulb is a ground and try re-grounding each bulb. If that fixes it, chase the wire and see if you can find the break. There may also be something else drawing on that line as well. Be careful with this because you could blow the bulb or do some harm if there is some thing also drawing juice. Be prepared to unhook the test ground. If you have daytime running lights, see if that's still pulling on the power when you switch to regular lighting. Hint: daytime running lights go off when the parking brake is applied.

Sc 322 on a 3045. cudnt figure out how to fix this problem. everytime i switch it on n off sc code disappears, once i print the paper stops at the registration roller and brings up the sc code. dont...


Another poblem with this machine is that the sync detect for the 400 dpi and 600 dpi could be off. Go into service modes by pressing the yellow clear modes key then pressing the numbers 1 0 7 then hold done the red stop key till you see the display change. Now go into copy sp, then hit the 2 in the window {drum}, next use the page down button located in the middle of the screen till you see the one that says 2109 LD Beam Pitch Adjust. Go to number 2109-8 beam pitch data reset. execute then go to 2109-1 and set it to 144 then hit pound. Now go to 2109-3 and execute. last go to 2109-2 and set it to 168 then hit pound. Now go to 2109-4 and execute. exit out of the service modes window. now try to run a copy and a print. If these fail the you either need to clean the laser assembly, a polygonnal mirror moror or laser drive unit.

My 48-inch Viking gas range is making a high-pitched, continuous, whining noise (not a beeping). It has never done this before.


Anyone figure out what the fix for this is??? I just bought a new frigidaire and it's doing the exact same thing!
