Hello
Your set's output section has got damaged. Putput device, whether it may transistors, or IC; has shorted. The output of most modern amps are DV coupled [power fed], and if any short in output occurs, the given output DC supply voltage will come as it is in output section, and will damge the speaker coil also. In most of this type ciruted sets, there will be a cut-off relay, that will energice when a short occurs, disconnecting the speaker. If the relay also got damaged, there will be no such action, and voltage come directly to output.
without rectifying this fault, never connect a speaker ot its output, as it will burn out its voice coil. Get it reparired soon. OK.

Hi mastervideo,
If you are going to get the voltages reading of the speaker terminal, set your multimeter to AC not in DC. You will get a maximum 12vac depends upon the strength of the input signal and your volume control. The reading will flactuate depend upon the input signal.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

check the speaker wire connected from your woofer. If you have other speaker, swap it to the woofer to determine if the fault came from the woofer itself. If the symptom does not heard in other swapped speaker, this is a clear indication that the hum was came from the woofer itself, this may have a shorted voice coil and need for rewinding.

can you power up the radio? one way to check whether the power amplifier still alive or not, get a multi meter to measure the speaker terminal. should not get any dc voltage between the 2 terminal for each speaker. if found any dc voltage meaning the power amp is dead.

Your best bet is to take them to an authorized repair center. You may also want to talk to Samson directly. Here is their support link-

No sound from samson resolve a6 speaker

Is the input cable okay on othe systems? Is the voltage switch setting correct for yourpart of the world? Is the GND/LIFT switch fully set to one side or the other?

If you are plugged into the 1/4 ich jack- is you plug the correct length? There are 5 different lengths on thses.

It also would not hurt to spray some LPS-1 into the controls and switches and cycle them to clean contacts as well. And into the 1/4 inch jack directing the spray towards the interrupt contacts.

65a Resolv studio monitors. The left one just blew out -- maybe. The blue LED stays dim, as though the monitor has been sleeping. When I power off the monitor, the speaker gives a loud pop, and the cone...

You are getting DC offset voltage on one of your amplifiers that is the reason the speaker pushes out and you might be hearing a humming noise too. Do not turn on the speakers till you get it fixed or else you would end up burning the speaker voice coil too.The dim blue LED is also an indication of a short circuit in the output stage.
Your left amplifier needs a output chip (IC ) replacement. You will need professional help to do that. Will cost you about 20$ plus service charges.

Hum coming from one speaker

Not good. you may have a blown amplifier. To check this, put a volt meter across the speaker terminals with the amp hooked up and off. Turn the amp on with the volume set to minimum and check for any voltage at the speakers. you should have no DC voltage (less than .1 volt) at the speakers. hope this helps

Hi There the fuse just blew in one of my Samson

Hi there
To answer your question;
If it is not indicated near the fuse holder then look closely at the metal end caps of the fuse.
The value will be written on one of them,
It may look like 2A/250v for 2amps.

Hope this help
Cheers

Htr 5630 shut off in 2 sec.

Sounds like you have a bad amp IC or transistors.
When these go bad they almost always put roughly 40 volts dc from the amp power supply to the speaker terminals. The protection circuit senses this dangerous (to your speakers) dc voltage and disconnects the speaker terminals from the amp via internal relays (the ones you hear click) and puts it into protect mode. If it didn't the dc voltage would quickly toast the voice coils of the connected speaker.

It might tell you on the back of the tweeter what rating they are. I should do a webserch for Samson spares and see what it comes up with.
