Question about LG Washing Machines
There are two large spring clips that hold the seal in place.
If you open the door and feel around the outer edge of the seal you will feel a metal wire that is held together by a short spring. You need to expand this spring to enlarge the wire circle (not too much as you can cause damage to the spring itself). Most techs use 2 vice grip needle nose pliers to do this. Once the spring clip is off you will need to fold the seal inward. Around the base of the seal where it meets the tub there is another wire spring clip assembly. You will need to remove this one as well. If there is a drain port on the seal you will need to un-clamp this one as well
The new seal goes on just like the old one came off. you will need to expand the spring to clamp the base of the seal around the tub. and again with the uoter seal lip around the opening of the door panel.
This procedure can be quite tricky and LG does have a special set of pliers for this job. It can be done without the special tool but it require quite a bit of patience and strength.
