Sometime there is a main power switch on the back of some tv's. if that is not the case try replacing the power plug.

This is a common fault solution which can be checked and corrected by you assuming that there is no component failure . There is a high possibility that the components over a period of heating and cooling, tend to bring on a problem of dry soldering. So my advice is to check the set for some loose joints that have played on to give you these erratic shut downs or poor performance.

The best way to check for loose connections is to tap lightly when the set is powered on , If there is change while tapping then it seems that there are DRY solder joints. Remove main plug, the covers - with caution of high voltage, check for dry joints, use a good soldering iron to solder all suspected points.

Sometimes the fault occurs when the set warms up, if so you can simulate the heat using a hair dryer on the suspected areas, try with the power supply, distribution, Processor controller, driver controllers on the A/V related sections. Also the use a FREEZE-IT spray can simulate the components to cool and show up the fault.

Based on the above method you must be able to locate the area of fault and solder the sections. Sometimes large IC's- ones with more pins- tend to have drying in some pins and so cause faults related to the IC's protocol. Have a rough idea of looking into the areas to reduce the time of probing.

A red line is appearing on my acer v203h desktop, can i repair it?

This just maybe a connection, so have a good look at the cable and connector, check the pins in the connector see if they are all tight, also if using a plug in video card, check it is seated correctly, even withdraw, clean the gold fingers, carefully with a eraser, and reinsert to make sure, of course if you have onboard video, this cannot all be done.
That all said IF it is indeed a fault with the monitor, one must be very careful as to costings. The best thing to do is to take it to a competent repairer, and ONLY ask for a "Quote". This way you can find out exactly what's wrong, and how much it may potentially cost, then one can go from there as to what to do? repair or replace?
This is often a sign that the screen is indeed going faulty, usually the lines get more and more and eventually it will fail, however i have seen them take months to do this, sometimes it stays as it is for ages?
My moto is, to, well if one can, put up with it, until it becomes too distracting etc, and then repair it, well actually, usually it is replace?
If you wish to DIY, then one must obtain a service manual, and perform the troubleshooting steps to try to isolate and effect a repair. Always start at the power supply and check this and work out.

Suddenly my acer X223W lcd monitor goes blank and the light stays blue. I can barely see the images like in a 10% transparency filter. When I turn the lcd on everything is ok until the logon screen appears...

There is an "inverter" component inside the LCD monitor,
that creates all the "brightness" of the image.

That part is failing, and is becoming intermittent.
It's about a $20 part to replace, plus $50 for a qualified TV/computer technician to open the monitor, replace the part, and reassemble the monitor.

Replace the high voltage transformer. It is the ballast for the backlight.. If you could pinpoint the one that's overheating then that is the one that needs replacement. Much better if you will replace the four transformer...

Hope that answer your question..
Much appreciated if you could rate this help. thanks.

Specification of part place in the heat sink of the acer al1716As lcd monitor power supply pcb,i cnnot recognized burnt already,is that IC or transistor.it has 6 pin

Hello,

Transistors are with just three pins, so what you are seeing there should be an ic and not a transistor.

It is ics that have numerous pins, transistor have just three legs(pnp) or (npn).

So what you see is an ic.

Take care.

It is definetly a widescreen the issue is either with your display card or your resolution setting you need to check both. If you would have told me wether your display is through mother board or scsi card the model of mother board or the display card then i could fix the issue easilly.
