Power up your laptop, put the CD in your CD drive. Restart the laptop a screen may pop up on restart telling you to hit any key if so then hit a key on your keyboard. Then to it may not depending how the cd is setup. Once the CD starts it will prompt you the rest of the way on the install.

I hope this helps you out, if it does leave me some feedback.

Will not switch on Hannspree tablet HSG1279

I had the same problem, you need to reset the Android system by holding in both the volume up button along with the power on button together, once you see the Handspree logo, release. you should boot into the recovery system, you now can reboot the system by using the volume buttons and the power button to select. you could also contact the Handspree help line on 0871-6641 811, but they will only tell you the same this helps.

How do I reinstall the operating system from the recovery partition?

The recovery partition does not usually have an OS installation on it. I have wanted to do the same thing many times. But in most cases the recovery partition is used along with a recovery CD or OS cd-rom and helps restore the PC back to its original state. However, try going to manufacturer website/Support and doing a search for your model, along with the key words recovery partition. Many sites have an online tech support where you can do Live Chat with a support rep. If you don't have access to the internet, I highly recommend trying to get online at a friends, etc... to access the manufacturers website. You will find detailed instructions on how to restore your specific model.

I need a recovery disk software sr over the internet as i do not have an external cd dvive

you don't need it sent over the internet, you need to put the recovery disk image (an ISO file) on a USB flash drive and boot from the flash drive. First, use a program like Nero or MagicISO to make an image of the recovery CD. Then drag the ISO file into the USB drive. reboot your computer, make sure that your BIOS settings are set for you to boot from a USB (most netbooks and notebooks will be set for this by default) and it should boot to your recovery software. If you do not have the original recovery disks, got to the manufacturers website and you should be able download the bootable version of the recovery software.

Missing boot.ini cant find it and missing logon.exe

  1. Configure the computer to start from the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. For information about how to do this, see your computer documentation, or contact your computer manufacturer.
  2. Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and then restart your computer.
  3. When you receive the "Press any key to boot from CD" message, press a key to start your computer from the Windows XP CD-ROM.
  4. When you receive the "Welcome to Setup" message, press R to start the Recovery Console.
  5. If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the installation that you have to use from the Recovery Console.
  6. When you are prompted, type the administrator password, and then press ENTER.
  7. At the command prompt, type bootcfg /list, and then press ENTER. The entries in your current Boot.ini file appear on the screen.
  8. At the command prompt, type bootcfg /rebuild, and then press ENTER. This command scans the hard disks of the computer for Windows XP, Microsoft Windows 2000, or Microsoft Windows NT installations, and then displays the results. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to add the Windows installations to the Boot.ini file. For example, follow these steps to add a Windows XP installation to the Boot.ini file:
    1. When you receive a message that is similar to the following message, press Y: Total Identified Windows Installs: 1

      [1] C:\Windows
Add installation to boot list? (Yes/No/All)
    2. You receive a message that is similar to the following message: Enter Load Identifier This is the name of the operating system. When you receive this message, type the name of your operating system, and then press ENTER. This is either Microsoft Windows XP Professional or Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition.
    3. You receive a message that is similar to the following: Enter OS Load options When you receive this message, type /fastdetect, and then press ENTER.

Note The instructions that appear on your screen may be different, depending on the configuration of your computer.
  9. Type exit, and then press ENTER to quit Recovery Console. Your computer restarts, and the updated boot list appears when you receive the "Please select the operating system to start" message.

I just receiver recovery and system disc from Acer to restore my laptop to factory settings. I tried couple times and followed the instructions. The recovery disc formatted partition 2 on the computer but...

Looks like your recovery cd is corrupted. You must obtain a copy of Ms Windows cd and install it using the license from the back of your laptop. If that doesn't work either its a hardware related (hdd) problem.
