Question about Samsung Cameras
The camera may be having a power or lens issue. Make sure the batteries are fully charged, or use some new alkalines, if in doubt. Make sure the terminals inside the camera are clean (use a qtip and alcohol, or a pencil eraser).

This problem sounds more like a lens issue, and can be caused by a stripped, broken, or jammed gear inside the lens assembly, and might requires servicing. Take it into a local repair shop for an estimate, or contact Samsung here:
