You don't say how old the frig is ... you cant have a frig run like this. On one day ... off the next ... slam the door and it works ... Either get a new frig of get this one repaired professionally. Probably best to get a new frig. I would guess minimum service call charge will be $250.00

Testimonial: "been looking at new ones all day and i was thinking the same thing. thanks"

Great minds ... BTW, side by side are the worst on energy use. I had a 25 foot side by side. When I gave it up in favor of a 21 foot top freezer, my electric bill went down $50.00/month.

when it stops cooling, you will see some ice build up in the freezer. Letting it sit unplugged melts the ice and you will see some water under the fridge. Connect power and it works. Cause: don't overload the fridge and the freezer. Make sure the doors close snugly. Clean all lint build ups by vacuuming under and behind the fridge after switching off power.

Led display not working

Unplug your refrigerator for 10 min. then plug it back in. It should come back on so you can reprogram it to your liking. If It fails to go back to default settings and operate normally, you may need a visit from a service tech.

Fridge stops running after about a day.

That is a faulty defrost system.

Test the defrost thermostat, heating coil and fan, and replace the faulty part.
the defrost system is located behind freezer firewall.

It just quit after a couple of months of very little use.

Most likely you have a defrost problem. When you unplug it for a couple of days, it thaws out and you plug it back in and it works until it freezes up again. Possible problem ...1 of 3...defrost timer...2 of 3...defrost heater...3 of 3...defrost bi-metal.

Refrigerator buzzing for 10 seconds every 4 or 5 minutes

Buzzing is usually a fan, like one in the freezer, or back bottom - for cooling the freon. The compressor over-heat usually will make a single click (off) and a few minutes later a click (on). If the fan in the freezer stops working well, the freezer will frost up and the fridge section will not be cold enough.
