I understand you're having an issue with your receiver's hard drive in terms of viewing the DVR features, roger prokes. What error message are you receiving? Is it 024 or 311? Also, make sure when you unplug the power cord from the wall that you keep it unplugged for at least 15 seconds. Do you have it plugged into a surge protector or an outlet? If you have it plugged into a surge protector, try using an outlet as that will likely work better.

Hope that helps!

Bought a tvonics freeview dtr-hv250 digital tv recorder, keeps coming up but it wont allow me to record. keeps saying the hard drive is unformatted. done what it says on the on screen instructions but

Go to your on screen menu under dtr settings and format the hard drive. If you have been recording the hard drive may be full and some programs need to be deleted to allow more recording space. You may also unplug the unit for several minutes and use the reset box option.

Dish Dvr 612.. I accidently deleted my recordings. How do I recover

esriniv

If you have deleted your recordings from your 612 receiver, there is not a way to retrieve those recordings. To prevent this from happening in the future, you can connect an external hard drive to the receiver and transfer the recordings to the external hard drive. I have provided a link with more information about an external hard drive. I hope this helps.

The receiver hard drive is comparable to a computer hard drive. When a problem is detected with the hard drive, the receiver will give an error message stating a problem has been detected. Depending on the severity of the problem, sometimes it will show that unplugging the receiver for 1 minute will resolve the issue. Other times, a message will state that the hard drives needs to be reformatted, which will erase all content on the hard drive. It sounds like this is what happened to your recordings. If unplugging the receiver did not resolve the issue, we may need to replace the receiver. Please call 1-800-333-3474 and speak to a Technical Support agent.

The dvr function doesn't seem to be working. I

More than likely, the internal hard drive has failed. I have had this happen to me. I would first do a hard reset, that is unplugging the unit and leaving it unplugged for at least 20 sec. Plug the unit back in, and let it power up. This will take a few minutes to locate the satellites and download the guide. If you still cannot use the DVR after a hard reset, most likely the hard drive is a goner. You can still use the reciever to watch T.V., but you will not be able to record. There is no point in trying to replace the drive because it would cost you more than you would spend to replace it.

How do I know if my Directv HR22-100 HD receiver is dead?

one last thing you can do, if it doesnt work the dvr is dead. reset the dvr and wait for the hello screen and then the screen will go black. when it turns black, hold the down arrow (on the front of the dvr) and the record button for at least 5 secs. this will re-format the hard drive. if it doesnt work the dvr is dead

Hard drive erased

The proper operation of the 625 assuming one goes to bed before midnight will have the receiver updating at the preset time-usually 3AM after which the energy conserving portion of the receiver takes over turning both tuners off. Upon waking you will notice no lights on the receiver are illuminated and once the TV is on your have a screen saver image dancing across the screen. Once the select button is pressed the receiver will come out of sleep mode and the tuner you are using will illuminate on the receiver.
As for the increased recording time this was an update that was put out last year at about this same time for reasons that escape me at present. It is unusual that the hard drive reformatted and could be faulty. If you would go to the menu and press 6-1-3 this will bring you to the system info screen. Select details and scroll down until you see the value0 through value 9 and record these figures and let me know what they are and I will tell you definitively if your hard drive is corrupted, faulty or on the verge of a crash. Hope to hear from you soon and thanks for using Fix Ya.

DVR S4040R Tivo box

Your hard drive may have crashed. Can you hear any disk activity when you plug in the unit? The hard drive can be replaced, but probably better to either just get a replacement unit (you can get them on eBay for $40 or less) or upgrade to a newer receiver.

Black screen

80% or more of the issues with your DVR can be resolved by unplugging the box for 90 seconds and plugging it back in. There are some features that will be avilable immediately, and others that will take time to download. IE: all of the quide. I can't stress this enough - reboot your DVR occasionally - just like your computer its hard drive might need this.

I have also seen the hard drive inside this box appear bad when it was actually a problem with one recording. In my case it was a recording on the wrong channel, one that did not broadcast anything in my market. I was unable to access any of my recorded programs and when I tried to play the one in question, the screen went black. I deleted the program and all was well.
