I see that you are not getting any sound from your Dell 510 Laptop, If you lost the sound just a day before try doing System Restore first,
1. Click on start, All Programs or Programs then in the list Look for Accessories, System Tools, then click System Restore, this will help your restore you system to the day your sound was working.
2. If still the sound does not work go to Control Panel, look for device manager or you can click on start on the start search bar type in device manger it should show on the list then click on it to open Device manager, click the arrow on the left side of sound, video and game controllers it will show you a sub category of your audio drivers check to see if there are any of these signs
If there is an X on the Audio driver it means that it can be disabled.
If there is an Exclamation point it means that the Audio card on your machine is detected but may not work correctly, disabling and enabling the device may fix this or uninstalling and reinstalling the driver may work.
If there is a question mark means that the device is detected but it cannot determine what device it is most likely the driver is incorrect or corrupted and may need re-installation to fix the problem
Note: If you uninstall a driver and re-install again and you get an error that the device cannot be detected then most probably your audio card maybe damaged and is unrepairable, or you may get an error saying that the device driver is already installed on this machine something like that, check to make sure that the driver is uninstalled properly before installing a new driver for your Audio device.
