Question about Kenwood KDC-MP235 CD Player

1 Answer

Is my CD player fried?

I took it out of my Rodeo today and attempted to hook it up in my maxima. about halfway through i realized that i had the wrong wiring diagram so i figured out which wires were for the power and connected them, reconnected my battery, and started the car, but the CD player doesn't come on at all. The fuse looks fine, so I am confused as to what might have happened to cause it to completely stop working.

Possibly (but highly unlikely) fried speakers. Try them on a different radio. If they work, you're radio is fried.

remove the unit from power for about 15 min, that should clear the settings then plug it back in. if it still shows protect then there is a short in one of the power or ground wires.

Your best bet is to go to a good stereo store that can get you a wiring harness adapter that will plug into your car and be color coded to wire up to your aftermarket radio.

It will save you a lot of time and trouble.

Hi

have you pulled the radio out yet? if not there should be either one in the back of the radio near the plug or an inline fuse on the wires coming into the ISO socket at the rear.

Hope this helps

Only the back two speakers hooked up to my system are working. I am not getting any sound from the front two. Is there a way to adjust it so all four of them are playing

IF your balance is correct on your cd player and youve got good connections on both wires the speakers should work unless the front two channels are fried then theres no sound. I would try getting two extra pieces of wire 2 feet atleast and hook them up to the front two channels and to an extra speaker if youve got one then go from there.
