Hi I have a two Sharp XE-A102 cash registers, with the same problem. Yesterday I was charging an item the paper started running off like when you are programing in the taxes, this apparently deleted the tax table for all four departments this. When I tried it today the "E" on the left of the screen comes up if i try to make a charge. So I tinkered with it a bit, following the instruction again I was able to program in the tax for department #1 then I press the CA/AT/NS button :- the tape showed that all the departments taxes 1 through 4 were still programed so I entered a charge pressed the CA/AT/NS button but got a beep sound the "E" showed up again when I pressed the #1 dept and the draw would not open. Please I need help.

It sounds like someone has accidentally tried to make sales while accidentally still in programming mode. I need to know the department settings. Print out a programming report, then tell me the current settings for each department and I'll try to tell you what you have done wrong
