Hi--I am trying to connect my Dynex tv to direct TV. In the tv start up mode --after I choose "Satellite" as my source it asks me to put in my number for connecting to satellite. I have no idea what number to put in? Can someone help me with a better explanation?

Hello I have been given 2nd hand a Dynex LCD TV DX 40l130A11 TV from my cusin and pluggin it in is fine and attaching it to cable was okay but it comes up saying no signal. how can I just view the TV?

Hi Rory,
I hope you have chosen the correct input source ie. RF, AV1, AV2, PC or HDMI to which you have connected the cable. Despite choosing the correct input source if the TV says no signal means it is not reading the signal. In that case the main board is defective. A good technician who knows component level repairing can repair the main board. Otherwise you will have to replace it.

Dynex tv has no picture

Select the correct picture mode and adjust the brightness/contrast. See "Adjusting the picture" on page 13.

Make sure that the antenna or cable TV is connected correctly. For more information, see "Connecting an antenna, cable TV, or satellite TV box" on page 7.

I have a blue screen that says "not support!" i have checked all connections to my television and my direct tv box will not show the screen

It is due to the video resolution feeding the TV is too high for the TV to display, same thing applied to PC monitor.
http://www.fixya.com/support/r4873371-fixing_out_range_format_not_supported

Please ask direct TV on how to adjust the Direct TV box video resolution output.
How is the TV attached to the Direct TV box, HDMI, COMPONENT CABLE, ETC?

We are trying to hook up a samsung flat screen TV, a sony home theater system, direct tv box, and a panasonic DVD to the dynex component video converter box. Which cable goes where

We can't make assumptions. Did you set it up in accordance with the manuals?

Without specific details...

In general, ins go to outs; compatible connectors need no modification.

If you have an HDTV and HD Satellite I don't think you want to be tying the video quality down to S-Video.

There are two signals to consider here. Video and Audio. TV's are expert at Video and A/V Receivers are expert at Audio, so each should get first crack at the specialty for which it is designed.

HDMI or Component Video (Red, Green and Blue RCA cables) are the best and ONLY ways you'll get Hi Def to the TV. If you route EACH HIGH DEF SOURCE'S VIDEO DIRECTLY to the TV (instead of through the receiver or a switch) the TV/monitor will receive the best video digital data.

Digital Audio from as close to the real source as possible (SAT Box, maybe) to the receiver.

Standard analog audio from the SAT box to the TV for watching lo-fi content like news and weather without the Sony HTS turned on.

My TV signal source is a cable/satellite digital box. The setup screen correctly takes me as far as "Select correct input source for set top box." At this point - instead of leaving the...

I would suggest using dedicated input button on remote, not the menu on the tv. If you can skip setup screen that would be best. I have just looked at the manual for that tv, it tells you all you need to know, depending upon which input you used for your box. As I stated use the direct input button on the remote if you have it.

I am trying to connect an Insignia flat panel TV to my existing Dish satellite system. Dish satellite system is not HDMI. We have: cable from the wall (satellite) connected directly to the new TV (exactly...

Hi,

I really need to know the model number of your Insignia TV and which connections you are using between the Dish box and the TV to give you the correct answer. If you are connecting both cable and satellite, I believe it should be set-up as follows:

1. Connect cable feed to TV
2. Run auto channel scan on "cable" setting
3. Connect Dish box to TV and then try changing the "input" selection.

With the Dish box switched on to a channel number you know, try pressing the "INPUT" or "SOURCE" button on your Insignia TV remote repeatedly until you find the satellite feed. Once you have done so, you should be able to change satellite channels using the Dish remote.

If you need further assistance, please post back with the model number of your TV and details of the connections you are using on the back of the TV.

Regards,
BElectric

Dynex TV picture disappears to snow after a second

I bought this TV and had the exact same problem, I tried everything i could think of and so did Geek Squad but nothing worked. We called Best Buy to see about a return policy and the manager told us that the brands Dynex and Insignia do not work with certain cable companies, one being Comcast. Call Best Buy and ask if your cable company will work with the brand. My suggestions are to either return the TV and search for a new one, I did this, OR you could take a DVD/VCR player and connect the cable from your wall to the DVD/VCR player. Then use the red, yellow, and white wires to connect the TV to the DVD/VCR player. Put your TV on the proper input and cable will work fine, because you will see the picture from the player not directly from your TV. I hope this helps, if you need any further information just ask.

The on-screen menu opens. 2.Press < or > to select Channel, then press v to access the Channel menu. 3.Press ^ or v to select Air/Cable, then press < or > to select Cable. 4.Press ^ or v to select Auto Scan. Press > or ENTER. 5.Press ^ or v to select Cable System, then press < or > to select your type of cable or satellite system. You can select STD, IRC, HRC, or AUTO. If you are not sure what type of system you have, select AUTO. 1.Press ^ or v to select Start to Scan, then press > or ENTER to start scanning. Your TV memorizes all cable channels you receive. If you are using an antenna: 1.Press MENU. The on-screen menu opens. 2.Press < or > to select Channel, then press v to access the Channel menu. 3.Press ^ or v to select Air/Cable, then press < or > to select Air. 4.Press ^ or v to select Auto Scan.
