Monogramman you have described where your issue is. When you dismount the front panel you are moving the wires. If I was looking at your unit and you told me that it worked with the panel removed, I would look at the wiring between the front panel and the relay board for a loose connection. You should be able to pull the connectors ( remember to shut off the power for safety) and put a flash light on the backside of the connector. Look thru the front an you should see very little light. If you see a lot of light there is your loose connection. Or if you are careful, you can wiggle the connectors until you get to one that is causing the clicking. Hope this helps. I doubt if it is the oven thermistor as the oven heats while the front panel is dropped down.

SOURCE: F7 error on GE eledtric oven JKP20

This is a shorted touch pad. replace the touch pad or, if the touch pad is incorporated within the control board, replace the entire oven control board.

It sounds like a defective Control Board, return it or exchange it for another one.

When buttons are pushed, no beeping. even when timer is set to go off, no signal that the time has expired

If all other functions are working and you just lost the beep sound then you have to make this choice. The beeper is actually mounted on the main control board. If it has gone bad--the only way to fix it is to replace the complete main control board which is an expensive part. One thing to check in your owners manual is if your control has a way to change the sound level of the beeper. If yes--it may have accidentally got shut off if it has that type settings.

Ge built in 1993 oven shows an F-1 sign and beeps

Hello there:
any time you recieve the f-1 and sometimes a f-o error with the beeping this is from the electronic range controle board or erc for short and this means that that part has fgailed and needs to be replaced if you go to repair clinic.com you can look up you oven model number and get parts from there or if you have a appliance repair center in your home town give them a call and tell them the ovens model number and tell them you need a erc or electronic range controle board ok?
Hope this helps
Best regards Michael

My double oven keeps beeping and F-2 keeps appearing on the display What does this mean

HI. This error code will occur when the control board senses an oven temperature above 915F-935F

Once this type of temperatures occur, this will generally weld the relay contacts on the main board. This will damage the board, and it will require you to have it replaced, asap. If these temperatures never reached the sated thresholds, i would advise to Look for a high resistance connection or any other cause of high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit. Check sensor, sensor harness and sensor harness connection at sensor and oven control. Replace the sensor if found to be defective. Check door lock switches for damage, as well.

In most cases, this will be a failed control board. To confirm, simply preform a resistance test on the sensor. The normal ohm readings should be 1100 ohms at room temperature.

Beeping with f7 display

HI this is a touch pad or key pad issue. In most models, the touch or key pad are integrated. In this case, you will need to replace the entire control board or EOC(clock).

Now, if the touch or key pad is separate from the main control board, and linked, via linking ribbon, i would advise to use the procedure below to isolate the problem area.

Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:
1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.
