Hi,
sounds like a sock got sucked into the fan. its going to have to come apart. study the chassis of the dryer. usually you start at the back of the control panel and work your way to the top undo the belt at the access cover st the back. get the front of the machine off. check the back middle of the drum for screws then lift out the drum. clean all lint while its apart. have the vac handy.. unplug it first!

This almost always caused by a burnt out dryer motor, the winding's in the motor are shorted or an open circuit. I advise you to replace the motor. While you are in there clean all the duck and debris out of the dryer cabinet, the duct contributes to early motor failure..

The last few words say duct, it should read dust. and yes check for anything that is keeping the motor from turning but have never seen a sock in one. Clean it all up and see if the motor starts working again. If the motor still is humming, replace it.

sounds like an induction motor. start winding or start capacitor not starting to turn motor, This will make motor hum. Do not know m/c in qestion. Switch on and as soon as pos try to turn motor careful not to use hands or anything that can injure yourself with if it starts to spin.

When you turn on the dryer you can hear the motor hum but the drum wont turn ...i checked the belt and it is not broken

When you checked the belt, did you check to see if the motor would turn by hand, if not the motor is locked down and that's why you hear the hum noise, it still has power and still trying to rotate, but from being locked down it has no option but to strain and hum. If that's not it, check around the drum for a sock or small piece of clothing, it can wedge between drum and dryer frame and cause the tub not to rotate just like if the motor were locked down.

Press the start button on dryer, it hums but wont turn. With 2 people pressed the start button again, held the door switch, reached in turned the drum, it hummed stopped humming then no more nothing....

Sounds like a weak motor. You'll have to get a new motor installed. They are fairly inexpensive and easy to install yourself on that type of machine if you are handy. Motor is located in the bottom right of the machine, attached to the drum belt through a small pulley underneath the drum next to the motor.

Pump just hums but wont start

Sounds like its frozen and causing a very heavy load on your circuit. If the motor gets hot within seconds, its shot and needs replacing. Have you attempted to turn the motor over by hand ?
