Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

Every time I try to print something, the print program "locks up" my computer (Windows XP). The printer itself works, and the connectons are fine... I've deleted cookies/browser history and uninstalled my Lexmark 1200 Series All-In-One, rebooted and then reinstalled it again, but now it won't print/copy anything at all. It seems to be a problem with the ink cartridge software, because the box pops up to ask if the cartridge is new, but won't allow me to answer or do anything else. Please help !!!

    The only things available at that address are cartridges and transparancies -- no software is offered....

    Actually, it's fixed, now... God reminded me to make sure to uninstall the fax software, too. Once I uninstalled the printer AND fax programs, unplugged the printer, rebooted and THEN re-instlled the printer, it worked just fine.

    Like I said -- thanks anyway.... (Please refund my $9.99, since your suggestion/s didn't work for me...)

You need to uninstall the driver from the add/remove progams in control panel in hp listed driver revove them all. but you have to unplug the printer from the pc at that time while uninstalling the drivers from the add remove program list then shut the computer down leave it turned off for 5 mins then reconnect the usb cable for the printer and dont turn on the printer till the pc is booted up when the pc is booted to the computer then install the driver without turning on the printer till the time the sofware install prompts you to turn on the printer. issue will be resolve.

I assume that this problem just showed up. Have you tried a System Restore yet? Go to Start>Control Panel>Performance and Maintenance>System Restore

The system restore is reversible if it doesn't work, please set the computer back to a date before this problem showed up. If you have any questions or need anything else, please let me know

Try to do again the uninstallation of the driver, and remove the connections of the printer to the pc.. then reboot..

power on the pc -on windows connect again the printer and let the pc detect the printer, then installed again the driver..

Windows 7 is very close to XP & with practice works a lot better. If you have installed your Printer on computer & you see something to print in your e-mail do this. Hi lite (blue) with your mouse (left click at the beginning & drag down to where you want to printed) In Internet Explorer or Firfox go to file - print (check selection) then print. That should do it. depending on your e-mail there should also be a print some where on your e-mail.(sometimes works also)

Why is my printer going slow after only 3 or 4 sheets and almost stopping by the 5th print


First question, has the printing behaviour changed or has it always printed this way? If this is new then something has likely changed on your computer. Common problem is updates for programs like Adobe Acrobat which often cause printing problems. Try printing from a couple of different programs so you can determine if all programs are suffering this issue or if it is just one program or type of file you are trying to print.

I have windows 7 I uses creata cars gold in my old computer but now it won't run in windows what do I need to do


You can either upgrade to the latest Broderbund greeting card software. (See this site for a list of all the Broderbund Design and Print products: http://www.broderbund.com/c-6-design-print.aspx . You may not be able to import old projects into the new software.)

Creata Card Gold 8 was for Windows XP and older OS versions. I suspect the compatibility mode will not work but you can try it. Right click on the installer. Then choose Properties and then the Compatibility tab. Turn on Run program as Compatible with the appropriate OS. Then right click again on the installer and choose Run as Administrator. Then check if the program itself is running in the compatibility mode by right clicking again and choosing Properties. This is more likely to work if you have Windows 7 32-bit.

I do not know if this will work. A method that will work is to use a computer (virtual, dual-boot, or true second machine) with an older version of Windows installed. If you have Win7 Pro or Ultimate, you can create a virtual XP computer for free. Download and install Virtual PC and XP mode from Microsoft. Install them in order. Then install the XP software from your CD in the virtual computer and it will work. (Other virtual computer programs are Parallels and VMWare.) All of the other options will require a licensed version of the older Windows OS. Please note that the virtual computer can't share files directly with the main computer. You'll need to save files to external or removable media (optical media or flash drive, for example) to share them to print them. A printer can be installed to either the real or virtual machine at a given time. You will be asked to uninstall the printer if you try to install it in the virtual computer with it installed on the main computer.

Pixma IP3000 will not print


try to do this set of instruction & solution:

  1. Go to Start | Control Panel | Printers And Other Hardware | Printers And Faxes. Double-click the icon for your printer to open the Documents window and clear any pending print jobs by selecting Cancel All Documents from the Printer drop-down menu
  2. Try printing a test page from the printer, not from Windows XP. Most printers have a built-in test function that's activated by holding down one or more buttons while the printer is starting up. Check your printer's user manual for instructions. If this page prints successfully, you know the problem is either with your connection or with the software in your computer.
  3. Check your printer's USB or parallel connection.
  4. Try printing something simple from Windows' Notepad. To open Notepad, go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | Notepad, type a few lines of text in a document, and try printing it. If it successfully prints, the problem is with the software program you originally tried to print from.
  5. Try printing using Windows XP's generic printer driver. Open and run the Add Printer Wizard. When you get to the Install Printer Software screen, select Generic under Manufacturer and Generic/Text Only under Printers (see Figure 2).
  6. Select No for Do You Want To Use This Printer As The Default Printer? (see Figure 3). Click Next.
  7. When prompted on the next screen, tell Windows XP to print a test page. If the page successfully prints, then you probably have a problem with your installed printer driver. Either update or reinstall the driver.

normal to some computer, but apparently, if you still experience this time from time to time,.. if you have windows xp or vista
-go to printers and faxes on control panel
-open printer icon, delete the file, turn printer on and off and that should do it.

Couldn't install lexmark 8300 printer software on my window vista driver computer


Follow this link to the official Lexmark website and download the driver.
http://downloads.lexmark.com/perl/downloads/downloads.cgi

If you can't follow that link, go to www.lexmark.com. On the top menu, there is a link called "Drivers and Downloads". Click it and select your series, then your OS system, and there you go.

The drivers for Vista are finally updated.

I had the same problem for about a year... now it works fine.

Printing problem


>go to printers & faxes
>right-click on the printer icon and select Properties
>click on the Print Test Page button
>windows test page will print - if issue still persists : uninstall driver from the XP Control Panel -> Add & Remove Programs -> EPSON Printer Software
>reboot computer
>re install printer driver

Computer freezes up (Hangs)


On Vista it's not working cuz u don't have propper driver installed for ur printer, as for PC freezing, chek printer's settings in XP, if it's set to print imidiatelly and not spool print jobs first, it could be ur problem.

Ahhh Vista - has a lot to answer for , is this another little glitch I wonder? Would it be possible to save a document to disk and print it on the printer from another XP computer for example - just to check things that way. I do suspect that this is a program thing and not the printer.
