Question about Mitsubishi WD-52531 Television

1 Answer

My WD-52531 is darker in vertical bands on each side of the screen. The image is darker in those areas regardless of what input is selected. It looks like burn in from watching 4:3 ratio television. The darker areas are in the same location as the vertical letterboxes when watching 4:3 images. How is this corrected?

Hello,
Try first cleaning all the lenses from inside the TV'S projector DLP projection TV's are very prone to dust accumulation because of spinning mechanical and lenses..To do the cleaning you need to open the back cover of your TV use a soft cloth to wipe all the dirt and dust from the lenses be carefull not to apply a force you might break the lenses.clean also the projection lamp.you can also replace the lamp if the lamp is not bright or nearly to be busted.....do first the cleaning and lets see if this resolve the problem....good luck and please post back if you need further assistance...

Light vertical band about 3.5" on left side of screen

The cost to repair this "convergence" issue is about the same as a new TV. Stay away from Toshiba TV's they have allot of problems. I have found for the cost that Vizio (sold at Wally Mart, Costco, Sam's club and others) has excellent prices and few problems.

I had the same problem with my Lnt4071f. I called tech support and they said it was a faulty panel and the entire set had to be replaced. If you have your warrantly still use it, if not you may just be able to replace the panel, but its expensive.
