Hello, I have not heard of this. The easiest way to authenticate that watch is to unscrew the crown. There should be no threads on the crown tube. Fake watches generally do not use internal threaded tubes. You can check the quartz for swiss made movement. Also, is there a below crystal or above crystal cyclops? This is a small lens above or below the the crystal over the date window. Those who fake this watch will not put this in. These are the things I would check to confirm it's authenticity.

OK, at first I could not see the pics. Now I can. The case reference number "964-013" is valid for this model watch. There should be a reference letter right after that case reference number as well though that is missing. "1860" is the correct date. However there is no indication on the case of the quartz inside the watch. The case is wrong in format and design. It would be my opinion at this time that this watch is not authentic. I am almost positive. Sorry.

Here is how an authentic watch, like you have, would look. So you can have a little reference. If I may add, the best way to purchase such an impressive watch is to have them meet you at the jeweler and have the jeweler put a new battery in it. Then the jeweler can authenticate it at the same time. The watch would more than likely need a new battery anyway and if it is not authentic then the would be thief can pay for the battery. If you should have any other questions, feel free to ask.

    Regards,

    Tony

TAG Heuer watches are all marked with the company logo on the back of the watch. Under the logo there are two sets of numbers. The first set is the reference number and the second number is the serial number. If the serial number does not have any letters it is a certified chronometer watch. The TAG Heuer company encourages clients to register their watches
(I note that the one that is real below conflicts with the statement above!)
I am certain this is what you have on the back of your watch:

See the post by David just over 1/3 down the page:
Happy to chime in here.

We're looking at an early, S/el (sports elegance) series midsize two tone. The luminous on the dial is aged. Hands could be replaced which would help a LITTLE.

The completely flat dial also helps date this in the VERY Late 80s to VERY early 90s issue years.

Technically, this is the 2nd version of the S/el as the first version preceded the standard, across the line "Professional" marking on the dial. See attached photos of 1st issues I've sold over the years.

Hopefully this helps you sort out the mystery. If not feel free to seek another expert.

Here are some things that have me wanting to tell you to take it to a reputable Jewler and ask them to verify the authenticity of the watch. The mark between the C and the E is rather strange. Also the watch band connection on a real watch is not usually squared / straight below the wrist band pin. For your own piece of mind have a Jewler look at it. It is possible that you have a real watch... but the 2 things I mentioned above have me thnking.... get yet another opinion.

After looking at the imprinted logo that has the flat top circle around the shield... I am with you... I don't recall seeing that on Tag Heuer watches. In the 1980's they had some different logos but that one does not look authentic. Additionally..... I do not see a model number on the back plate anywhere..... This alone should have you alarmed. (Did I miss it?)

Here is the kicker... This is from Tag Heuer:

    http://www.tagheuerregistration.com/inde...

Note they say.. there MAY be exceptions. As far as I know all Tag Heuer watches have a model number on the back plate regardless of serial number location except the chronographs

Need manual on operation of Tag Heuer ''Chrono'' watch . Leather band w/rose gold bezel.

I would contact Tag for this one. Most watch vendors will provide them at no cost. Be prepared to give them the #'s on the back of the watch to ID your watch.

Where can I purchase bb0316 links for women's tag heuer band?

Hi,

If your watch is older than 4 years you can't buy links unless you get real lucky and find a watchmaker that happens to have some on hand.

Swatch sold Tag Heuer about 4 years ago to Louis Vitton. LVMH did not purchase the parts for watches made prior to the sale of the company. So all those parts are no longer available.

If your watch is less than 4 years old you can contact Tag Heuer directly for the links.

Hope this helps,

Ken

I am about to buy tag heuer link calibre 36 limited edition 1996/2000 and is got these numbers at the base cn111b.ba0337 and a signature and a japanese name is this watch original? thanks

Fake Tags are common! The only surefire way to tell if its real is by the movement! They use Swiss ETA movements. Fakes use Japanese movements! If you are purchasing this watch online...well good luck! If you can take it to a watch repair company then I would suggest that before you buy so they can open the case back and see what kind of movement is in it! A real Tag will cost upwards of $1500 plus and I would think a Limited Edition would be even more!

Good luck!

If you pull out crown carefuly, you will notice there are two clicks. The first one is for adjusting calendar (day or/and date). Next one is for moving hands. Pull out to the first click and adjust the date by turning the crown.
