Question about Neff 24 in. S6409N3 Built-in Dishwasher

Open Question

We have a Neff dishwasher model S6R28F which starts but doesn't complete the cycle, gets part way through and then gets stuck. Moving the dial round starts it off again but only for a couple of mins after which it gets stuck again.

SOURCE: Neff Integrated slimline - Programme does not complete.

IT SOUNDS AS THOUGH ITS NOT HEATING DETERGENT AND RINSE AID INTRODUCED INTO COLD WATER WILL GENERATE A LOT OF FOAM,IS APPLIANCE WARM INSIDE AT END OF CYCLE?OR IT COULD BE TOO MUCH RINSE AID IF IT IS FILLED WITH RINSE AID AND YOU ARE USING A TABLET WITH RINSE AID COMBINED IT WILL HAVE TOO MUCH TO USE IN ONE WASH.

Looks like the heater unit has packed up.

I cannot seem to find the actual model you have anywhere on the internet. But I am assuming you connect the dishwasher to cold water inlet and it is meant to have a heater.

Are you in UK or Europe. Bosch also makes parts for the NEFF dishwasher but I am not able to find spare parts for your exact model.

Please post a comment.

SOURCE: Neff S4132WOGB dishwasher - timer

It is posible that the timer is defective if there is no movement of the timer to advance and connect to the next program.
A new timer control of the same type is required to be fixed in this case but the wirings must be done correctly.
So before the timer is bought , confirm once again the functions of the motor ,and allied circuits as an estimate must be taken to decide.

Dishwasher filled and does not drain. I think the dial is faulty; however, how do I drain the water.

Hi
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

Hi, we have a Bosch SHU53EO6UC/14 dishwasher. It is getting stuck in wash and isn't advancing. We think it may be the timer but there are lots of references to running a test program. Unfortunately...

My Bosch DW SHU5302 also got stuck during a cycle and ran and ran. Turns out this is a known problem with these DW's. The problem is that a trace on the main board burns off that controls the heater. If the heater doesn't come on then the DW keeps running waiting for the water to heat up. Re-soldering this trace fixes this problem. If you get a repair guy out, he will only change the board. They are not allowed to re-solder which doesn't fix the problem for long as the same trace will burn off. Did this about 8 years ago and it is still fine.

This model had two styles of motors which often became stuck. First secure power
to the unit at the breaker panel. Then remove lower cover. If the motor is square you can unstick it by moving the fins which are visible on the end of the motor shaft.
Also check for a broken off aluminum fin which occasionally happened due to poor casting which jams the motor.

If it has a black round motor, there is a fan blade located between the motor and pump,
there may be a small plastic cover there or not, reach between the pump and motor and rotate the fan blade to free the motor. Lube with silicone spray.
While doing this also check free movement of triangle shaped piece of plastic, it is the drain valve controlled by the drain solenoid. If it does not move then the solenoid has failed, (remove C clip and two philips screws behind to replace it).
Lastly, make sure disposal is working if you have one. if it does not work the dishwasher will not drain. There is a small red reset and in the center a 1/4 inch hex hole to use an allen wrench to free disposal on most models. Hope this helps.

Cycle dial doesn't advance automatically anymore. I saw some listed problems that sounded similar, but not exact. Washer will work in all cycles, but only when I watch and move the dial manually.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

Its seems that the Timer is stuck, as everything else is working fine in the unit and the dial ust gets stuck and so won't complete the cycle so the problem is with the Timer motor going bad and needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Dishwasher stalls

If the cycle doesn't complete, check these:

Water-heating cycle
Timer
Water-heating cycle Many dishwashers heat the wash and/or rinse water to a higher temperature, as the cycle calls for it. In these cycles, the dishwasher pauses after it has filled with water, waiting for the water to reach the pre-set temperature. What happens next, depends, as follows:

  • On some units, the pause is timed and the unit continues after the allotted time.

  • On others, the cycle can't continue until the water reaches the higher temperature. If you have this type of dishwasher and the water isn't being heated (say, because of a problem with the heating element or thermostat), after the unit stops at the heating cycle, it never continues. When you repair the heating-system problem, the "cycle problem" is fixed too.

Timer Timers don't often fail. But if every other part of the dishwasher seems to be working properly and the timer knob seems to be stuck in one place--doing one function continuously--the timer may be at fault. Dishwasher timers can't be repaired. If yours is defective, replace it.

NEFF DISHWASHER S5443 STUCK IN TEST MODE

First try disconnecting the unit, completely from any power, for an hour or more, look in any control doors or access points for a small battery mounted to a board or in a holder, if you find one, take it out also, noting the positive and negative orientation.

If that doesn't do it, there are reset buttons under the tops or lids of some NEFF models, if there is an obvious lid after trying the no power trick, take off the top and look for a stand alone reset button.

If all that fails, write me back

Neff 5644 - how does it work!??

"e" is economy - ignore this there is a selection of spin speed - most people use the fastest half load is what it says - most people wash a full load so ignore the temp dial just selects wash temp. for normal washes set to 40deg can't remember the symbols on program dial but think they are fairly self-explanatory this machine is just a washer remember to check the filter regularly

My Kenmore diswasher gets stuck between the quick rinse and drying cycle

I am having the same issue as described above. I think it is either the timer, thermostat (temp assure), or thermostat (temp boost) that needs replacing. The dial gets stucks in both the wash temp boost cycle and rinse temp boost cycle. However, I don't have a picture of the temp assure or boost part. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks. -Bill
