The vtm4 light went on( I think by itself ) will not disengage the malfunction light is also on now air & heat works one day then dont work for a day or two how do I unlock the switch ?

Honda Guy had this to say;
When operating normally your VTM-4 light means the vehicle is in traction control mode. HOWEVER, if the light just came on when you were driving it is an indication that you have a problem with the engine that is causing the VTM system to think the vehicle is in traction control mode because of a loss of engine power or misfire.

Here's how that happens: on a Honda, the way the vehicle restores traction is by reducing engine power to the point where the wheels don't spin as fast and thereby restores traction to a slipping wheel (slipping wheels spin faster than the other wheels). Conversely, when there is a reduction in engine power that is abnormal, the VTM system "thinks" that the engine power is being reduced to restore traction and it triggers the light.

In almost all cases, the light is being triggered by an idle speed control valve malfunction or in some cases by an EGR valve malfunction. It may or may not turn on the check engine light. This problem was fairly common on Pilots in 2004 and 2005 but certainly isn't limited to just those years.

Take the car to a Honda dealer or to a mechanic and have them check for stored codes in your powertrain control module. I think you're going to find that there is a code for an idle speed control valve malfunction or an EGR valve malfunction. The idle speed control valve is warranted for 8 years or 80,000 miles; the EGR for 3 years or 50,000 miles. Your Pilot is probably still in warranty and if so the repairs would be made at no charge

hope that helps

Heat pump doent kick back on after defrost-blows 5amp breaker

If you continue to blow the 5 amp fuse, you have a "short" in the control circuit. It could be the reversing valve solenoid coil (very rare) or it could be in the wiring. It is possible that you have a wire with cut or melted insulation that is causing the low voltage short. If this is happening only during the defrost cycle, then you want to check the wires going from your defrost board to your reversing valve solenoid coil. Also check the wires going from the defrost board to the defrost thermostat. Often, some electrical tape and some wire ties to pull the wires away from the area that damaged the insulation is the only thing that is needed to correct this problem. I hope this helps. Good Luck!

As far as the refrigerant is concerned. Yes, it is possible to overcharge a system. It would have to leak out, but it is not uncommon to charge a system that has 5 years and perform a quick check for leaks. Sometimes systems have very slow leaks or the leaks reseal after time. It is better practice to charge it, look for obvious leaks and then see how it does than it is to spend hours looking for a leak that may not be found. It costs you more money and the tech more time. Hopefully, you used a reputable company to charge this system.

if the engine is full of stop leak it would over heat not no heat. check the thermostat & make sure it's not stuck open with stop leak. then make sure you bleed all the air from the system.

Good luck.

If your Heatpump's fan isn't running but your compressor is, your fan motor is out. If nothings happening at all ensure your getting power to heatpump (ex: breaker tripped, fuses blown on outside power switch, or fuses blown in breaker box?)
