SOURCE: cannot remove attachment from proteam super quarter vac

Greetings, The ProTeam backpacks us a 1.5" hose and attachments. The way that the floor tool is removed is by unscrewing the collar of the attachment. Simply turn counter clockwise on the the part of the attachment that is secured to the wand and doesn't rotate. This should loosen the floor attachment, and you may then pull it off. The other floor attachment can be fitted, and then screwed on by rotating the opposite way, clockwise which will secure the attachment to the wand. I really hope that this information was helpful to you. If you ever need parts or supplies for your ProTeam, please be sure to check out GoVacuum dot com. Bell Howell 7650TMO Sunlight Floor Lamp....I need to replace the plug...does it matter which wire goes where on the plug? Only 2 wires come out of the lamp. Thanks.

Yes, it does matter if correct polarity is to be maintained.

Black wire to brass screw on plug

White wire to silver screw on plug

If the plug has 3 prongs (grounding plug), the green wire goes to the green screw.

More info, let me know.

It stopped working while I was using it . I tried to plugged in different electric outlets but it still dead. What should I do or look into in order to get it back to normal?? thanks

I would start by taking the wand apart. Be sure vac is unplugged from the wall outlet! You should be left with two pipe pieces, and the beater bar. I would also pull the hose from the canister unit itself. Once all the pieces are pulled apart, check the two or three prong wire connectors on each piece, both the female and male ends. If you have any dielectric grease, use a dab on each electrical connection. Once you reassemble, and still not powering up, wiggle the wand back and forth at the connection near the canister, and after the hose near where the switch is. If the vac cuts on after wiggling it, then you have a loose connection, and will need to tighten the female ends on the electrical connections, by squeezing them together slightly with a pair of pliers. Please rate if this works or does not work. Thanks!

On my kenmore central vac no power unplug unit plug it back green light comes on but try turning vac on green light goes off again .

Please clarify that we are talking about the central vac LED/switch panel panel and plugging it into a 110 V wall receptacle.
If I understand when you unplug from the power source ,then plug back in the green LED comes on, looking normal ? But when you manually activate the switch on the motor housing of the vac itself the vac does not start and the LED goes out, so no green or red LED at that point?
If this is the case , Kenmore CV's built approx 5 years ago (MADE by EUREKA) and prior had a circuit board with attached cord (as opposed to detachable) which was prone to relay failure. There were several symptoms, most common was that the relay on that switch panel /circuit board would fuse on and the vac would continue to run when the hose was detached from the wall. However some I worked on from that era had exactly the same symptom you describe. If your unit is between 5 and 10 years old and this sounds accurate, you can unscrew this curved side panel relay with one philips screw. Inside on the PCB will be an L shaped black or white 24volt relay, generally rated at 10 amps. The replacement board or relay will be rated at least 24V/ 15 amps or more. If you can isolate your motor and test it separtely with a power cord or meter , the realy/board will be the only control componnet left.
If you have a small tipped soldering IRON, not a gun, you can generally find a replacement relay to rebuild the board for about $6 at an electronics parts store. Otherwise you will need to replace the control board itself, anywhere form $45 to $70 plus service call if you have a tech come out to the house, and the tech will just unscrew , detach wires and replace the board, no repair , approx 15 minutes work. This will likely cost over $100.
Please post back with your results

Explain how to re-wire 16gal craftsman shopvac, switch wires are- 2 orange wires, one white, one black and one green(grd wire), I pulled them off and don't where each wire goes.

Im not looking at a diagram of your machine.

Typically, in a switch circuit ... the green goes through; the white goes through; the black is broken by the switch.

The two orange wires you speak of ... those come from where? Are they from the motor? If yes, one connects to the white and one connects to the switch.

I hope this helps you

If I have misunderstood your question, please ask again.

Central Vac will not turn on.

These problems are nearly exclusively caused by a bad circut board and replacing it is the fix. Bad boards can cause many different effects so its nearly impossible to be sure. The 9v signal wire is not enough to short out an entire unit so it is unlikely the hose. If it is a direct connect system and you are pulling power from the 110 somehow that would cause main unit problems but that is unlikely at best. Sounds like a failed board to me.

Best of Luck

It sounds to me like the power cord has a short. To test your power cord you need a multimeter. Test continuity threw the power cord, from the male plug prongs, to the wiring inside the vacuum. You should get continuity from one prong on the male plug to only one wire on the other end of the power cord. If you test one prong but get a readying on 2 wires, then it is crossed. If you dont get any continuity on one or more of the wires, you have a short. A common place for a short in the cord is the male plug, you can find a replacement male plug at a hardware store and cut off the old one. When wiring the male plug, black wire goes to the gold post, white wire goes to silver, and green wire goes to the green post.

If your carbon brushes on the motor are warn, then that could cause the motor to stop, but other parts of the vacuum should still work so I dont think it is that.

Hope this helps.
