Open Question

Samsung rf266aabp/xaa has a space compact icemaker somehow by removing the ice bin to clean it out i knocked out 2 square pieces one foam, one plastic plus there is also a rubber tube thing hanging down with a square thing attached to it. This assembly must control the water depth for the ice cube tray, because now thats messed up, but i cant find out where it goes, nor can i seem to find a parts manual to help me figure it out.

SOURCE: Icemaker doesn't work - no ice ejected

Krakus, there is no fuse in the dispenser assy., but there are two switches mounted on the control bracket. The posts on the brackets that hold the switches are really thin and it's possible that it broke. Therefore when you are pressing the lever you are not making the switch and sending the juice to the auger motor. Remove the dispenser cover by inserting a flat blade screw driver in the slots at the bottom. Pry out gently and the cover should pop off. Then slide it up and off. Now you will be looking at the control bracket and see the switches on the left and right side. See if the switch holder is broken. If this is the case your part number is 2183771. Not a hard job, just have to take your time. Im assuming that when you tested the auger motor you verified that the drive coupler was not broke. Catriver..post back

SOURCE: GE Microwave vent fan replacement.

The part # SMV-260UA runs just under $60 from SamsungParts, depending on which of three versions you choose. You can find them here.

And a simple Google search shows quite a few hits for "SMV-260UA" and they seem to run about $40, assuming the listings aren't bogus - as so many search results are.

I have a few "new old stock" and used vent & cooling fans here.

I would be happy to supply one whole or just the blades if you like.

Just tell me the dimensions: diameter of the shaft hole and the length and diameter of the "squirrel cage" itself and I'll see if one of mine would work.

SOURCE: GE Microwave vent fan replacement

(I'm assuming you're talking about the hood / vent / exhaust fan instead of the internal magnetron cooling fan).

The part # SMV-260UA-C will not be enough to go on, as there at least 3 variations on that number shown at Samsung parts.

These microwaves are made by Samsung, but you'd need the GE part number to replace the whole thing. They don't sell the blades separately.

The part # for the "ventilation motor" is WB26X10042 and you can find it for $97.11 here, which is about fifty dollars less than direct from GE.

I may have available a replacement flan blade off a used unit. If you'll send me the dimensions, I'll check. I need the length of the fan blade, the diameter, and the inside diameter / shaft size, and whether the shaft is round or "D" shaped.

Please feel free to contact me directly.

We're happy to help you and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Please provide the model number of the microwave, and we'll be able to supply the part info. (Some Samsung models with this problem were part of a huge recall).

Top ice maker in Samsung RFG298AAPN does not make ice. No water cycles into icemaker. Icemaker has been reset, nothing after 2 days. Should I replace the icemaker or the water valve.

On these models I've noticed that the temperature in the ice maker area warms up due to a ball of ice forming inside the freezer compartment ice maker fan that has vent going to the ice maker. Until it is found whether or not that ball of ice is blocking the vent and fan you won't be able to go to the next step. The switch on the ice maker will test the ice maker by filling it with water and rotating the Forks that dump the ice into the ice bin Appliance 911 Sea Breeze

Samsung RS267LBBP icemaker tray will not return to the correct fill position

Hopefully the whole thing can be removed easily. Usually only a couple of screws holding it in place. Better to work on it at a table.
Once out, carefully remove the front cover and start checking electrical connections, many are just contact points, and when it gets jammed, it scorches a contact. If you can find the spot and somehow make it better it may work again. Otherwise, the timer section may be available at a repair shop or at Repairclinic.com.

"space compact icemaker" cover fell off. How to put it back?

To replace this part, locate the two holes at the front of the top base of the ice maker, going up into the freezer ceiling. Place the two half-round 'pegs' at the top of the missing cover (above the vent holes) into these holes, then press the cover back into place. The peg protruding from the back of the piece should go into the hole in the ice maker housing, and the prongs will catch on the ice maker when you snap it into place by brute force. I wasn't strong enough to push it back on with one hand, but a stronger person did it in seconds once I explained how it should fit.

Ice cubes are turning into a clump of ice

I found a high density foam and a plastic retainer under the freezer drawer, inspected ice maker and found a wire with a rectangular senser hanging down. Removed freezer drawer and door to gain access to icemaker. Reinstalled foam piece and plastic retainer to lower front of icemaker (there are recess and a small retainiing tab) Reassembled freezer door and drawer, system working normally

My samsung model #RS2578BB AUTOMATIC ICE MAKER IS NOT MAKING ICE PLS ADVISE

TOOLS NEEDED:
Eyes (fair to good shape)
#2 phillips screw driver
Flashlight

Lets assume it was working at one time right? And the FREEZER temp is BELOW 20degs

REMOVE storage bin to see icemaker.

LOCATE test button on underside or rightside of clear motor asembly.
(should be black)

Press until icemaker starts, then release button. Watch the tray twist and return to upright the should fill with water.

If icemaker worked: ICE SENSOR MAYBE BAD> ORDER NEW ICEMAKER IF THE ICE DOES NOT EJECT AFTER 4

If icemaker did not Start by pressing the test button.: UNPLUG the frig or go the Main Service Panel to the house (BREAKER BOX) and shut off the power and verify NO LIGHTS INSIDE THE FRIG>

Remove the concealed screws holding the icemaker to the ceiling.

PULL the icemaker forward to release icemaker. Using the Flashlight
LOCATE the wiring harness on the ceiling. Look for the RELEASE and Squeeze and pull down. Inspect the electrical pins to make sure all pins are equal and secured. If all is well there?
THE PROBLEM COULD BE either: ICEMAKER or Main PC Board

I would order a Icemaker assembly first since it is the least expensive.

Good Luck and Cheers!

Why is the ice maker not droping ice / Mod. ET1FTTXKQ00 / Type C21TFA01 Whirlpool 08-01

Take a 4 inch piece of 14 gauge insulated wire and strip 1 inch of insulation off each end. Bend the wire into a U shape.Remove the plastic cover from the front of the icemaker. Insert the bare ends into the terminals marked T and H on the face of the icemaker. The wheel should move and dispense the ice into the bucket. If it does not move and drop the ice replace the icemaker.

Ice maker makes too much ice

In my Kitchen Aid bottom freezer there is a metal arm(?) that I lift up to stop the ice maker from making ice. When I start running low on ice, I push the metal arm(?) back down for it to make ice again. Hope this is the solution for your Kitchen Aid too.

Two issues

Well here is How I fixed My French Door Ice Maker, It made the same loud crashing sounds, and seldom put out much ice. To the point that it made no ice at all.

First, Make sure you can get water out of the front, if not, your water lines may be clogged.

The second thing you can do is hit the secret RESET button on the upper front side of the ice maker. See my first image for it's location, it is a soft rubber button.

The third thing.. In my case the reset button worked for a little bit. But eventually stopped. I had to remove the ice maker, and found that that several rows of ice had gotten stuck. The swinging arm that smacks the ice out would just strip the gears banging that ice to no avail. So opening the ice maker up and cleaning it out helped. I also cleaned the sensor contact with some alcohol. It is a thin metal strip close to where the gearing housing is. This I believe is ultimately where the problem starts. It allows the trays to get overfilled, and the ice can't be released. Once I cleaned out the tray of stuck ice, cleaned the sensor, plugged it back in, and hit the reset button once more, It was making loads of ice once again. If this fails, you can get a complete new ice maker online, I found a vendor on eBay selling it for a reasonable $80. You can use my pictures to see how to disassemble for repair ore replacement. My fridge by the way is the RF267AARS.

the part number is: DA97-05554A

It works with the following refrigerators
Samsung RF267AABP Samsung RF267AABP/XAA Samsung RF267AARS Samsung RF267AARS/XAA Samsung RF267AASH/XAA Samsung RF267AAWP/XAA

Ice maker

This means that the tray is not getting cold enough to freeze the cubes. It must be no more than 12 degrees F for the icemaker to cycle properly.

Make sure your freezer is cold enough. If it is, then the other possibility is that the heater element in the icemaker (which thaws the cubes JUST ENOUGH for them to be pushed out when ready) could be stuck on. This can be easily tested, but the process is a little beyond the scope of this reply. Check this link http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/icemaker/diagicemaker.php
