Question about ASUS M2N68AM Plus Motherboard

1 Answer

I have an Asus M2N68AM-Plus Mobo and a Asus GeForce GTX 460 1028mg video. Onboard video works, but I cant get the board/windows7 Pro 64-bit to read the geforce gtx 460.

The board supports 64 bit just fine. I am having the same problem as many others where on board works fine but any dedicated graphics cards aren't being read, and all options to disable onboard do not fix the problem. If 64 bit OS isnt supported by the board ,then it shouldnt say that it is supported, and also shouldn't work if it isn't supported. 1. 64 bit is supported ; 2. 64 bit OS has no prblems running or displaying w/ onboard graphics. PCIe16 card isn't recognized.

oh, and i have 4gb of ram so there isnt really any other option to upgrade. If the board doesnt support 64bit then there is no reason for a manufacturer to allow more than 3 gb of ram to be installed since you need 64bit OS to utilize 4+ gb. I am a geek and have tried many many options.

I fixed this problem if anyone out there needs it. The Video Card has 2 6pin power inputs. Both of these need power running to it either from 6 pin PSU rail (x2) or by Molex 4pin --> 6pin adapter. If using an adapter, you will see 2 molex 4pin female ends converting to 1 6pin male end. Both of the 4 pin molex must be connected to 4pin molex PSU rails.*NOTE: it is important to have 2 separate PSU rails connected or you will have power issues. (2 4 pin molex connectors, 1 each coming from different "cable bundles" *) If you need to use 2 of the 6 pin adapters because your PSU doesnt have 6pin ends, then 1 bundle/rail can power 1 4pin molex connector FROM EACH of the 4 -->6 pin adapters.

Your motherboard is not a 64-bit board so it cannot support the windows 7 64-bit version. you should get the 32-bit version or upgrade your ram and then your windows should be able to read your onboard video.

Asus m3n78-vm ram increase

Well, how much have you got? and are you running a 32 or 64 bit OS? For the Max ram you can fit to your mobo go to the ASUS site and look at the spec for your board. If you have a 32 bit os you cannot use more than 3.7 GB of ram, you can use as much RAM as you can afford or will fit if you have a 64bit OS.

How to enable tpm in m2n68am plus motherboard

Hello the homepage is here:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM2Plus/M2N68AM_PLUS/#download

But first select you current windows 32 or 64 bit.

Select the file you want and click on global for download.

I have seach in the files and a bios update should solve the problem.

I recomend to use asusupdate to upgade the bios.
If you are unfamiliar with that get a expert to help you.

Download first asus update and install it.
Next download the latest bios version.
Both files needs to be unziped before installation.

Open asus update and choose update bios from file
Select the bios file you just have downloaded typical a bin file
Click next and the program will do the rest.
You can do that while windows is running.

And remember DO NOT flash the bios with a wrong one
It will destroy the mainboard.

Remember to set up the boot settings when the job is done.

Good luck

I have china motherboard why window7 not take video grapics 945-15 p4

the drivers might not be installed correctly you might have to uninstall the graphics card restart your computer then reinstall the graphics card and its drivers
If your computer came with a motherboard disc the drivers could be on it Click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to display adapters + to expand you might see a yellow question mark ? or exclamation mark ! or a red x right click select reinstall drivers

Or your graphics might not be seated properly or have a dirty socket

might be a compatability issue 32 bit or 64 bit you could try these 32 and 64 bit

Hello, Your on-board vga is still active and by default your computer will use this for displaying graphics. You will need to disable it to use your new card or change priority so that it searches for an external display first. To do this restart your computer, go into the bios and turn it off or change priority. Refer to your computer manual for the proper location of this setting.
Please bear in mind that some systems do not give you the option of disabling your on-board vga. I believe this is to allow you to still use your computer should the external vga fail.

Hope this helps, thanks for using FixYa

Yes, no problem - just that the processors supported by this motherboard are a bit weak compared to the video card so they won't be able to use its full power.

Hello there, I am the Expert that will be helping you today, my name in damnor01.

Welcome to Fixya.

Remove the Graphics Card and connect your monitor to the onboard video(VGA) of your computer mainboard.

Now power on, if all works then the Graphics card is faulty etc...
If the PC still does not POST you might find that the computer mainboard is faulty.

However Intel has announced that the Intel P67 Mainboards and being recalled!!!

You need to contact the place of purchase, you will receive a credit or a replacement mainboard.

Contact them as soon as possible!
Your computer skills are excellent, Intel has a bug with the SATA2 3Gbps Ports, They die and then your board is dead.
What i am saying is it's not your fault!

Thanking you!
