Your solution did not work. All the connections you mentioned were already done. Where would I find Source/AV? Not on the TV or the remote. HELP!!!

I cannot get a picture on the screen of my Phillips TV set. All that shows when the set is turned on is one of the following. AVI or could be AV1 or SVHS. The previous agent was unable to help. All the wires are correctly connected.

I have no VCR or DVD player connected to the TV set. All wire connections are perfect and have been that way for some time. This is not a new TV. When the set is turned on there is only a black screen with either the letters AVI or SVHS appearing in the upper left corner of the screen. The rest of the screen remains black. The TV buttons nor the remote will do nothing.

The TV was working just fine until I pressed something I should not have and it will not allow me to access the working picture. None of your suggestions have helped at all. I know there is something I can press and get back to where it was.

If you are trying to connect a VCR, DVD player or similar items, you may want to check the connections. If you are using RCA or the yellow, red and white cables make sure that it goes to the port with the same color in the device . The port of the device should be labeled 'out', this goes for audio or audio out and video, video out. The other end of the cable should go to the back of the TV with the same color which is labeled in. Basically same color should be connected to each other.

If you are using other connections like coax, you may just have to scan the channels.

It could also be a bad cable. If you have a spare or borrow one you can swap to isolate the problem.

SVHS shows up if the TV detected the cable. If all connections are correct, this could be a faulty player or the input board on the TV may be faulty. To identify which one has the issue, you may want to try to connect another device to the same connection. It could be another player or a game console perhaps. If the same happens the input board of the TV is faulty. I would assume that the rest of the TV functions are working. Inspect the boards for burnt parts or leaking or swollen capacitors that needs replacing other than that the actual board may be bad.

Hello,

Use the RCA cord to do the connection. RCA is Yellow white and red wires. Yellow stands for video, while red and white stands for audio left and right.

Connect the yellow to Video IN, at the back of your Philips TV, then connect the red and white to audio in respectively at the back of the TV.

Now connect the other part/end to the cord to Video and audio Out on the other unit (DVD/Receiver, etc.)

Turn on your TV and the other unit, Press Source/AV (once or twice depending on the input) and there should be a display on your TV.....

If the above is not what you meant, please let me know...

Good luck.

Power light but no picture or sound

Hi!
My name is Chris.
I have this Phillips Wide Screen TV that didn't have or come with a remote, so I had to go out and buy a universal remote for it today from a BIG W Store. I'm having some technical difficulties & problems with switching and turning it on, but as I use the universal remote to turn on the TV, I'm having a bit of a slight problem with it turning it on, Ok, Yes, it works and Powers on, but there is nothing showing or giving me the indication that there is no picture or sound showing up on this Wide Screen Phillips TV, But there is a little red & green light at the bottome right hand corner that keeps on flashing red when ever I use the universal remote to switch the power on. Is there a possibility, that i can get some help on here, to help me out with any suggestions, is to why I'm not getting any picture or sound showing up on this TV with this universal remote ? Is there anyway that i can maybe get some help with this to help me out with solving my issue with the Phillips Wide Screen TV ?

I'm guessing you simply changed the input channel by accident. Press the input or video source button on your TV remote. Cycle through these inputs until you see your picture again. Hope that helps!

How to convert my my toshiba laptop w/ a usb port or a rgb port, to my jvc lcd 46' hdtv 1080p. is there any downloads that can help. I would like to have a nice media center.

I am unsure that yours is the same as mine (mine is a equium p200d-139)
It has a svhs socket onthe side and on the F5 key is the pc/tv switch ( by pressing the fn key and f5 you go from screen to svhs and screen then just svhs then back to screen)
If you have such a socket just connect a svhs cable to the tv and power the tv up, select the svhs (mine is shared with av2 on my tv (sony))
you may have to go into display options in the control panel also.
I hope this helps
