Question about Asrock P4V88 (P4V88 RAID) Motherboard

4 Answers

Hi, my pc don't start and repeat 3 long beep. Sometime start windows but next crash with blue screen or simply restart with the 3 long beep and black screen. I tried to remove video card and change with other but don't work. Testing the ram with memtest i got no error but at one point the system remain blocked. I tried also to reset cmos but noting change, i think that the problem is the ram and not the motherboard. Can you help me? Sorry for my english. Thankyou.

You have AMI bios and 1 to 3 beep codes does indeed indicate a problem with ram. You can try reseating them and, depending on if you have more than one stick, you can test sticks one at a time. If you have more than one stick, Take the other stcks out and try one in each slot, restarting each time. If you find one that works you have found a good stick. Try to install the next stck and restart, and so on.

Hi :) Try changing the Ram around if you have more than one stick of Ram and check the CPU fan and make sure it is running at it's top speed.

Hi :) Reason why i said to switch the SDRAM around is if the first slot has a bad stick of ram the motherboard will not startup but if the bad stick is in the second slot and the good stick is in the first slot the computer will still startup but you will loose info as the computer try's to store information on that second stick of SDRAM's bad sectors that is why some computers start to get blue screen of death sindrome and start to loose system files.

The blue screen problem causes is:

1- bad files in windows (re-install windows )

2- bad data cable ( replac it )

3- bad sector in hard disk ( repair)

4-bad ram (replace)3 long beep

5- bad power supply (change)

It depends on the type of motherboard and I checked yours, three long beeps does indeed indicate a ram failure.

The ram itself may be good or may be slightly malfunctioning. I would start by taking all the ram out and loading windows up one stick at a time. If you find one of them makes the beeping or BSODs you, then you have found your solution.

It may also be that you have different speeds of ram sticks in different 'channels' (usually denoted by the different color slots).

Let me know how you get on! and please any more questions do not hesitate to ask.

(also if you could rate me I would greatly appreciate it)

My n computing terminal server windows 2003 is getting restarted , i have connected around 15 users please help me to solve this problem.

It is getting restarted on it's own? If so, it sounds like you have a driver conflict and you've setup your system to simply restart when there is a crash. Enable the crash dump to capture the Blue Screen information the next time the server restarts. Please provide the version of vSpace you're using.

My Dell Inspiron 1521 has had a battery problem for a couple of weeks but just taking the battery out and only using the adapter worked just fine. One night the computer shut itself down twice. The next...

Hi,
Try running the diagnostics on the computer. You may need to repeat some of the steps that you have already done to initiate the same.

1. Remove the battery and the Ac adapter from the system
2. Press the power button for 10 seconds
3. Reinsert the battery and connect the Ac adapter
4. While holding down the FN key on the keyboard press the power button.

If the system beeps in a series on 3-3-3 or 3-3-4 the system is ok and there could be a problem with the screen.

If the system beeps in some other code . revert to the post and we would let you know where the problem is .
Thanks for using fixya

Windows 2k Pro crash with HP J5780 printer and M50 Thinkcenter

Assuming you have SP 3 on 2000, it's possible the USB ports are bad.  Try a different USB device ie mouse, flash drive etc to verify whether the USB port is bad.  If this is the case, you can either purchase a USB 2.0 card and install it on your PC or run without USB ports.

Crash and blue screen with error message

You would first need to make sure Windows does not restart automatically when a blue screen error appears. Then you can analyze the problem and fix the cause.

Have a look at BSDO error fixing.
