Usually route modems provide means to linking resources between computer devices . An absence of the computers that provides resources is observable that the router modems continues to blink least with resources sharing taking place. Unless that devices were disconnected mometarily causing signal miscommuciations requires ascertaining main system units to restablish networking. Ascertain that each connection devices, cables, also wireless features has least been alterlated.

cmcollazzi ,

One way to do it is to "disable" then "enable" the wireless adapter in the Control Panel.

[Start] [Control Panel] [Network Connections]

Find the icon for the wireless adapter and right-click on it.
Select [Disable]
Right-click again and select [Enable]

Please add a comment to let us know if that worked for you.

My IE 8 will not open any web sites

Is your Network Connections working properly?

If your networking adapters are functioning OK, try this,

Open IE
Tools tab > Internet Options > restore Adanced Settings and Reset Internet Explorer settings.
Restart IE.

Other options are:
1) Uninstall the Network adapter
Open Device Manager > Expand Network Adapter > Right Click on your internet network adapter and Uninstall
Reboot

If it doesn't work, try it again and then reinstall the driver. You may have to get the new driver from the device website.

2) Winsock and Tcp/Ip Fix
Start > Run > Type CMD > Type the following:
Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults,
type: netsh int ip reset reset.log and Press Enter

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults,
type: netsh winsock reset catalog and Press Enter

3) Run sfc /scannow (This will restore your system files back to original state)
Insert your XP disc
Start > Run > Type CMD > Type the following:
sfc /scannow

Hope it helps.

Internet explorer will not work It says cannot display webpage at the bottom it says DNS error

I have to assume your are using Windoze XP or Vista.

Sounds to me like any number of problems. It could be your firewall, your antivirus, your network adapter drivers, the network adapter settings or you could have a virusor other type of malware.

My first guess is that your network adapter settings need to be repaired or the IE8 explorer settings for connecting to a newtwok need to be configured.

You need to troubleshoot your your home network.

The newer 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz wireless routers should reach a couple of hundred feet. Make sure you do not have your SSID hidden. If you do, you will need to manually enter it into the xbox settings along with other security you have on the router.

Wireless adapter

I believe a router is necessary, however if you have an IP address and your adapter picks up the signal then I suppose it works. Check if you have an IP address at http://whatismyip.com/.
