Enable Hibernation in Windows 7 Starter on Samsung N150

Sleep mode on a Windows 7 PC saves power without you having to turn your computer off and without losing any work. This option cuts the power to your monitor, powers down the hard drive and pauses all functions until you awaken the computer from hibernation. Whether you have a laptop, desktop or workstation, putting your computer into sleep mode will lower your electric bill and save money! Click the "Start" button in the lower left corner of your desktop. In the lower right corner of the Start menu, next to the "Shut Down" button, is a button labeled with a small, right-pointing arrow. Mouse over the arrow. The Shut Down menu appears. Point at "Sleep" and click on this option. Your Windows 7 computer goes into sleep mode. Wake your computer from sleep mode by jiggling the mouse. There may be a delay of a few seconds before your hardware powers on. All of your open programs are still open and your work is intact, just as you left it before the computer entered sleep mode. Configure your Windows 7 PC to go into sleep mode automatically when it is not used for a certain amount of time. Click "Start" and select "Control Panel." Click "System and Security." Click "Power Options." A menu opens. Click on "Choose when the computer sleeps" and select the number of minutes of inactivity. You can also set a separate time interval to put your monitor into sleep mode. If you set both to 10 minutes, then your PC and monitor will automatically go into sleep mode after 10 minutes of inactivity Your Computer in sleep mode b> First, save all of your work. Information in computer memory is not saved while your computer is on standby. From the Start menu, select Settings, then Control Panel, then Power Management. My samsung netbook PC goes to sleep every few minutes and need to be started again pressing the switch button on. Sometimes it comes to operation on its own ''as if some divine power has come into...

Look under control panel for Power Management options. Adjust those to set the screen to always on when you have power and to power down after 20 minutes on battery. Making adjustments to these settings will cause battery life to drop but will accomplish what you desire as far as keeping the screen and hard drive on. Adjust the Hard Drive power settings in the same fashion.

If I leave my netbook alone for a few minutes, it freezes and I have to power down and start up again. Why???

It is likely going into a sleep mode.

You can try updating your BIOS to see if this resolves the problem, otherwise you can disable sleep mode from occuring.

I am going to assume you have Windows OS.

- BIOS drivers will be available from the Asus website.

----

To disable sleep mode:

- Click the battery icon at the bottom right of the screen.
- Select 'More Power Options'
- On either plan, choose 'Change plan settings'.
- Change 'Put Computer to Sleep' to 'Never' for both settings.

Good luck.

HOW DO I TURN OFF THE SLEEP MODE ON MY PRINTER BROTHER MFC 7420

Setting the Sleep Time reduces power consumption by turning off the fuser inside the MFC while it is idle. You can choose how long the MFC is idle (from 00 to 99 minutes) before it goes into sleep mode. The timer is automatically reset when the MFC receives a Fax or PC data or makes a copy. The factory setting is 05 minutes.
To turn Sleep Mode off press Menu/Set, 1, 6, 2. Then use the dial pad to enter the length of time the MFC is idle before it goes into sleep mode, in this case 00 so it wouldn't go to Sleep mode at all. Press Stop/Exit.

Aspire one with windows XP. Won't turn back on while in sleep mod

I've had spotty luck with Windows and sleep or hibernate modes. I would suggest just disabling sleep/hibernate mode. The options can be found under the control panel under power options. While turning off the sleep mode won't help your battery life, if you ask me, it beats having to power off the laptop by pulling the battery out. If you don't want to turn it off, you can try adjusting the amount of time it lets pass before it goes to slee.
