Hello,

The truth is that the user manual/instruction for your Vtech 5.8 Telephone is not available anywhere online. The manufacturers of this unit did not make it available. I went further searching and couldn't find any. It is a scarce commodity.

I would suggest you contact the manufacturer (V tech) of this phone via phone or e-mail and request for the instruction/user manual from them. They might give it to you or direct you to a dealer where you can get the instruction/user manual.

This is the best you can do to get the instruction/user manual you are requesting for.

Go to the V-tech's website, check "Contact Us" and you would see their e-mail and phone number.

Since you don't have the manual, you can read further as you might find the below information helpful;

The VTech 5.8 GHz phone has a digital answering system that acts the same way a voice mail feature works. You need to set up the system properly in order to start receiving messages. Because the system timestamps each message, you also need to set the clock on the phone to the proper date and time. You can also set other features, such as how many times the phone will ring before the system answers or a remote access code for checking messages from a remote phone.

  1. Press "Clock" twice.
  2. Press "Skip" or "Repeat" until the system states the correct year. Press "Clock."
  3. Push "Skip" or "Repeat" until the system states the correct hour. Press "Clock."
  4. Push "Skip" or "Repeat" until the system states the correct minute. Press "Clock."
  5. Push "Skip" or "Repeat" until the system states the correct day. Press "Clock."
To program the messages which is also known as voice mail;
  1. Press "Set Up," and press "Skip" or "Repeat" until the system states how many rings before the system answers.
  2. Press "Set Up" until the system states the telephone base ringer setting. Press "Skip" or "Repeat" until the system announces your desired ringer volume setting.
  3. Press "Set Up" until the system announces the remote access code setting. Press "Skip" or "Repeat" until you reach your desired remote access code. Press "Set Up."
  4. Press "ANNC" and press "Record."
  5. Record your greeting, and press "Play/Stop" when you finish. Press "ANNC" to exit the setup menu.
I hope you found the above helpful....

Good luck.

Vtech model CS6429-5 will not take messages and new voice mail message is always on the screen.When you go to play message it states you have no message.Is there a simple fix?

There seems to be two separate issues here.

Your phone will not take messages if it the answering system is turned off. See page 37 of the manual: http://www.vtechphones.com/support/general/manuals

You apparently have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

You might want to check the ring count on both systems. If they're both set the same, it's possible the phone company's voicemail system is picking up calls before your answering machine.

Sorry I made a mistake. My phone is V-Tech IA5864 2 phone answering system. It no longer is accepting messages. It leaves this message. We're sorry messages to this number cannot be accepted.

Hello Genevieve, What you need to do is re-program the phone answering system. To do this you would need the set up instructions which can be found in the user manual. Answering machine instructions can be found on on page 26. Reset the system by cutting off the power to the unit and then take out the battery for about 5 mins. Upon putting it back setup the answering machine from scratch. Do let me know if this has been helpful?

My daughter gave me her v tech 6.0 phone, i would like to know how to program my own voice re answering messages and also how to be able to pick up my messages from outside of my house thank you

"DECT 6.0" is the generic name for the digital cordless technology used, not a particular phone model number. You'll need to look at the back or bottom of your phone's base unit for a sticker with the actual model number. Once you have your model number, you can download a copy of the manual from VTech here. Just find your model and click to download.

I have a phone from Vtech

Having researched this phone, the message feature you have is voicemail. The machine itself does not have an answering machine in or on it. First make sure that you have voicemail through vonage. And check with them that the voicemail notification that they provide is compatable with the Vtech phone. Next try these steps Tip 1 of 7 Your phone is designed to work with most local and regional telephone service providers? voice mail systems. Voice mail (also known as voice messaging) is a subscription service, available from most service providers for a fee. This feature does not work in conjunction with your home answering device. Contact your local telephone company for more information about their voice messaging system. Tip 2 of 7 Your voicemail feature is compatible with both stutter and FSK signals from your local phone service provider. Contact your service provider to ensure you are receiving one or both of these signals. Tip 3 of 7 Move the handset closer to the base. The operating range may vary with environmental conditions and time of use. There may be places within your environment that a cordless phone will not work well. If the VOICEMAIL light on the base is flashing in the presence of unheard messages, however your handset does not display MESSAGE WAITING, it is likely your handet is out of range from the base. Tip 4 of 7 Other electronic products (i.e., 802.11 wireless networking products, radios, radio towers, pager towers, cell phones, intercoms, room monitors, televisions, personal computers, kitchen appliances and other cordless phones) can cause interference with your cordless phone. Try installing your phone as far away as possible from these types of electronic devices. Tip 5 of 7 The VOICEMAIL light on the base will flash and MESSAGE WAITING will be displayed on the handset only if there new, unheard messages. Once all new messages are heard and the phone is returned to the idle (OFF) mode, these indicators will be turned off. Tip 6 of 7 If the handset is not responding normally, you may need to reset your telephone system. Complete the following steps to reset the telephone system: Step 1: Disconnect the power to the telephone base. Step 2: Disconnect the handset battery. Step 3: Wait a few minutes and then reconnect the power to the telephone base. Step 4: Reconnect the handset battery Step 5: Wait about one minute for the handset to re-establish a link with the telephone base and then test the phone again. Tip 7 of 7 If the other phones in your home are having the issue, the problem could be related to the telephone wiring in your home, or with your local telephone service. Please call your service provider for further assistance. If this does not help, repost with further info. Please rate this solution throigh fix-it. Thank you
