Your front channel needs to be rebuilt. Since your unit did not go into protect, you probably only have a blown resistor, or diode.

Thanks for the fast reply. I changed my front speakers some months ago. From my old cerwin vega to fense audio 4 ohm speakers. I dont know the quality of the new speakers.
Can the change bee the reason for the blown channel ?
I paid 2500 NOK 9 years ago. I asked sony service if they could fix the channel for 1000 NOK.
But they would not settle for a fixed price. It looks like I have to buy a new reciver, what brand would you recomend. BTJ

It is possible that a poor speaker can cause a channel to go out. If you are in the market for a new reciever, I would stay with the name brands.

Right speaker channel doesn't sound clear anymore

If it sounds like static, and the bass really effects the sound it is most likely going to blow.
I would suggest taking it easy on the volume or switching your volume settings so its more on the left speaker than that right, but still with sound coming out the right one. Just so you don't blow it as fast.

Hello,
In a surround sound system, the correct way to listen to music is in stereo mode which will play out of your left and right channels and your subwoofer. When viewing a movie with surround sound, then you should use your rear speakers. The key element to remember is that rear speakers are only intended to play your sound effects, and will not play full range audio. Thats what your fronts and center are for. If you simply want to override this, than you will need to select the direct sound field on your receiver and than it will send full range audio to all speakers connected. Most likely, its not going to sound that good. If you dont know what each sound field does, here is a list and function of the most commonly used ones.
Stereo-Front Left and Right speakers including subwoofer
Dolby Digital or PLII Movie-these are the bost options for your surround sound
Direct-All speakers connected get full range signal
Good Luck

No sound with the front speakers

Sound to headphones comes from the pre-amp stage of most units otherwise they wouldnt be able to handle the power output . 150 watts into your ears ouch lol .
So it sounds like your slave amp has gone down on one channel . a slave amp is the final output stage and the power stage to the speakers . to make sure it is the amp change your speakers over if the sound then works from the speakers that had been dead then its the amp and requires an engineer to check it out with the prospect of a new output IC or final stage / capacitor replacement

unskilled persons should not attempt to repair electronic equipment as it is unsafe to do so , and may cost you far more in the long run ?. Regards Vortash

Most likely it's due to bad solder for the Blue Relays. It can be fixed by re-soldering.

Sound not coming from left side surround sound speaker or my right side front speaker

it is highly likely that you're TV is outputting mono sound, hence the left channel only. check your physical connections to the TV and the balance / channel volume on the television as well.
