It sounds like the hard disk is faulty, the machine is trying to boot via the network card as it cannot find a bootable disk. You could try removing the hard drive and reseating it but the disk could be dead.

Worked out excellent for me. thanks, I travel around alot, and maybe the hard drive jiggled loose. I loosened the two phillips screws on the bottom of the netbook, took off the cover, pushed the harddrive up and then turned laptop back upright and bumped it to get the harddrive to come out. I blew into the connection ports on the hard drive and where the hard drive connects to the computer to blast out any **** that might be causing a bad connection and put it back in and it works like a champ. Thank you so much. The manufacturer wanted me to send it to them and charge me $99.00. Thanks for your experience and saving me $99.00. Many thanks again.

SOURCE: For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller... check

You didn't list your PC model or make, but it appears that you have enabled the network card to boot from it's rom chip. Turn that option off in your software or pcie Bios control.

SOURCE: For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller...

system is trying to boot to a network, this is most likely due to the hard disk drive not being detected, or the windows operating system is missing.
First reset the BIOS defaults, see if the system detects the HDD in the bios and will now boot.

Run diagnostics on the hard disk drive, which I suspect it will fail.
If diags on the drive pass, they try reinstalling Windows. But I expect you'll be replacing the drive.

This is what mine says when I turn on Intel UNDI, PXE-2 . 1 (BUILD 082) Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller v1.0.0.5(01/22/09) Check cable connection..

You hard drive is missing from the system. Just does not recognize it.
Remove the hard drive and reseat (reconnect). Check BIOS by pressing an F key during boot. Look on the screen for correct Function key. Might be F2 key. Verify BIOS recognizes the drive. It must be listed! There is no going forward if it's not. Check boot order and make internal hard drive first. Save and restart.

My Toshiba L640 model encountering this problem. the time i open my computer the Toshiba logo appears and the F2 to utility system and F12 for the boot if you will allow the computer to proceed without...

That means the hard drive has failed. You'll likely need a new hard drive. Go into the utility system using F2 and see if it still sees the hard drive. If it does, and you don't hear something going "click, click, click" or "kchunk, kchunk, kchunk", there's hope. If you don't hear those noises, and can borrow a Windows disk to boot from, you might be able to correct the issue running the check disk utility.

I would recommend you turn it over to someone that really knows what they're doing.

based the message that you encounter, it may pertain to boot priority or to BIOS configuration.

My recommendation is for you to access and reset the BIOS settings on your computer.

The problem you are mention is related to the boot order of your computer. You computer is trying to boot from the network wireless card instead of the primary hard drive. To solve this, you will have to enter the BIOS and change the boot order.
With the laptop turned off, switch it on and when you see the ACER logo press the F2 key. You will enter the BIOS. Now press the right arrow key in the directional pad until you arrive at the "BOOT" tab, you will see something like this:
http://slackworld.berlios.de/2007/images_vmware/vm-bios-cdrom-boot.png
Now change pressing F5/F6 the boot order, putting the hard drive at the top. Press F10, then "Y" and "enter". The laptop will reboot and the message should disappear.
If it doesn't disappear you will have a failure on the hard drive, which you will have to replace by a new one.

The message you are seeing is your system trying to boot off of a network source. The boot device order has either been changed in your BIOS or the system is not seeing the hard drive with your operating system on it and is not able to boot from it.
