Question about HP iPAQ hw6515 Pocket PC
Can anyone tell me why my HP iPAQ 6515 keeps fading and shutting off by itself. I try to give it a soft reset and it doesnt even make it through the reboot when it fades and shuts off again. It works fine when it is in the cradle but wont stay on for very long before the screen fades and then shuts off when it is out of the cradle. Even when fully charged. I gave it a hard reset as well and it still does the same thing.
Frustrated in West Palm
Finally I solve this problem by soldering a short wire on cover switch, that is not reliable at all.
Suggested solution from:
also works for me, but only for 2 months.

Hi there, I've also been going crazy with the same issue on my Ipaq 6515, also live in West Palm Beach, and just did what this link says to do and my phone is like brand new. http://www.123datarecovery.co.uk/fix_ipaq_6515_6915.htm#3
Hope it works for you!

Need to get new battery

I have been having the same problem. I believe it to be a particular switch that senses when the battery door is closed or shut. It is a very small momentary switch and I intend to replace it as soon as I get a chance. I'll let you know how that works.
