Question about Samsung TXN2771HF 27" TV

1 Answer

Constantly flashing "Not available"

My Samsung TXN2771HF has started flashing "Not available" all the time, and the remote does not control the TV.  When the menu or channel buttons on the TV used, the TV continuously and autonomously scans through the menu options or channels, respectively, without stopping.

I have the same problem. Did you figure it out??? very frusterating

Thanks, jruhnke!  I fixed it, and luckily I didn't experience the problem with the inputs you did.  For anyone else with this problem, here are the steps I took:

    1)  Lay the TV on its face (on carpet!) and take off the outer plastic housing.
    2)  Slide the motherboard up and out as far as the wires will allow.
    3)  The front panel buttons are connected by a grey four wire ribbon to the front right corner of the motherboard.  Locate that ribbon cable and simply disconnect it from the motherboard.
    4)  Reassemble and enjoy!

I have the same TV and had the same problem. It's due to a failure in the front-panel buttons, which are very sensitive. Mine got so sensitive that they were registering presses all the time, even when nothing was near them.

Since I never used the front-panel buttons, I solved the problem by opening up the TV and disconnecting the front panel from the rest of the TV electronics. This was somewhat difficult to accomplish due to the fair bit of TV disassembly I had to do to get to that connector. After I put the TV back together, the "NOT AVAILABLE" problem was solved, but somehow I had damaged something else--the tuner, composite, and S-Video inputs lost their color and now only show up black-and-white. (Luckily, I only use the component video inputs, which were unaffected.)

The remote is not working - the cable button is flashing constantly - the tv will not turn on or respond to any remote controls

I have the same problem. The suggestions about holding down buttons for 1-2 minutes without the batteries in do NOT work. Pressing the TV button does NOT work. Still no clue what does work.

Need the tv code for samsung ph t4254 to program my bell remote to my tv

Hi,

The codes for Samsung TVs on a Bell remote are:

505, 506, 516, 523, 526, 566,

573, 612, 627, 647, 652, 653,

654, 655, 656, 658, 659, 664,

665, 667, 669, 670, 679, 680,
704, 717, 730, 738

Try each of the above codes in turn until you find the one which works best, i.e. controls most functions. This may be limited to contolling the power, volume and channel functions. I have also pasted the programming instructions for your remote below, in case you need them.

Regards,
BElectric.

Program your remote control to operate your TV

NOTE: Before you start, locate the remote codes for the TV and write them down.
Follow these steps to program your remote control to work with your TV:

  1. Press and hold the TV button on the remote until the SAT, VCR and AUX buttons light up.
  2. Let go of the TV button. It should start to flash.
  3. While the TV button is flashing, enter one of the 3-digit codes for the TV that you wrote down earlier.
  4. After entering the 3-digit code, press the # button on the remote. If the code was entered successfully, the TV light will flash 3 times.
  5. Try to control the TV's volume and power.
  6. If the remote did not control the TV, simply repeat steps 1 to 5 with another code from the list.
If you tried all the codes provided for the manufacturer, try the following steps to find another code.
  1. Make sure the TV is on.
  2. Press and hold the TV button on the remote until the SAT, TV and VCR buttons light up.
  3. Let go of the TV button. The TV button should start to flash.
  4. Press the Power button on the remote control. The TV button will stay lit.
  5. Press the up arrow on the remote every second until the TV turns off.
  6. When the TV turns off, press the # button on the remote to lock the code. If the scan was successful, the TV light will flash 3 times.
Your remote should now be programmed to work with your TV.

Light touch control panel always lit. "not available" keeps flashing on screen.

This is a common problem--the touch-sensitive buttons on the front panel are malfunctioning. Easiest solution is to unplug that control board from the main board inside the TV. See here: http://www.fixya.com/support/t886190-constantly_flashing_not_available

TXN2771HF (5yr old) - Front Panel a/o Remote Issue

Sounds like the 5 volt supply is low, Look for the 5 volt regulator, Measure you can go directly to the sensor 3 pins 1 will be 0 volts one will have 5 volts the other is usually a fluctuating 3-5 volts if 1 pin has to have 5 volts if it is low check capacitors around the 5 volt regulator probably 47uf to 100uf look for rusty look on the leads. If you see it change it! check these voltages with set turned off ( standby ) do not attempt if you dont know what your doing. Good luck. The reason it works when it is on is because there is a run 5 volt supplement.

Not Available Flashing

My Samsung TXN3271HF had the same issue where the poorly-designed Soft-Touch channel button begin to register phantom touches (leading to the "Not Available" message flashing on the screen).

The fix is simple: remove the plastic strip containing the Soft-Touch buttons and when replacing the strip, leave some room between the buttons and the TV's circuit board (you will see the circuit board once you remove the plastic strip).

Hope this helps.
