Cobra 18rv cb has 3 power wires, what is the yellow, (aux) wire for?

The red lead (switched) turns the radio on when the ignition switch is turned on and off when the ignition switch is turned off. The orange wire is used to keep power constantly going to the radio so you don't lose the last channel you were on, and it gives you emergency weather information even if the radio is off. If you want the radio to stay on all the time even if the ignition switch is turned off then you can just put both wires to a constant power source like directly to the positive post of the battery or an un-switched connection on the fuse panel, and you just turn it off with the volume/power switch. But you have to remember to turn the radio off or you could drain the battery in a few days. So the choice is yours. :)

While playing a cd it skips to aux I have to scroll down to cd to keep it playing

Either the "mode" switch on the handlebar is vibrating or there is an issue with the auto detect circuit in the aux section of the radio. Check the bar switch first. If that is good, radio will need to be repaired.

06 and newer...contact Iron Cross Audio
05 and older...contact Radio Sound.

What happened with this unit, I mean it gives me sound on fm or am, however on cd, usb, aux option does not, even though it displays in the screen it is playing.

It sounds like it could be the sound chip. If your fm/am radio is playing sound then the internal amp is fine however CD/AUX functions use a separate sound chip. Have you wired it to an external amplifier?

Aux in runs only back speakers and no volume control

This also happened to me, I just replaced the cable and works fine now.

High pitch sound in background

A high pitch sound while connected in the house is either a problem with the reciever or you are picking up interference from somewhere. However, the high pitched noise when using the unit in a car (especially through an aux. connection), is caused by the alternator of the car. This can be eliminated by connecting a filter in-line with the aux wire (much like filters are installed on the radio power line). The filter is essentially a low pass filter that filters out noise above a certain frequency. You may have to get creative and modify your aux. input cable (i.e. - splice it into the aux cable) in order for this to work, or you can just turn the volume down a bit - it should be less noticeable at lower volumes.
