Question about Panasonic SA-XR30 5.1 Channels Receiver

1 Answer

Have a Panasonic SA-XR30 that emits about 15 beeps as soon as I power it on and then shuts itself off again. The beeps are short and high pitched. Any ideas on what it's problem is?

Hello,

I think your Panasonic SA-XR30 is having a power problem or there is a bridge on the between the speaker wires. With the receiver turned off and removed from the wall, disconnect every wire, including the speaker wires and connecting cables connected to the receiver. Plug back the receiver into the wall and turn it on again. (I mean without the wires).

Observe if the receiver is going to turn off again, if it still turns off, then its actually having a power problem. It might have worked fine in the past, but that's electronics for you. Power surge, irregular power supply, excess power supply, etc can affect the unit thereby not making it to power on.

This unit has a power supply board in it where power enters from the mains. A capacitor, fuse, diode, etc may have been defective on the power board and maybe that's why its not making the unit turn on. There might also be some disconnection or something, inside the unit which is not making it to power on.

To actually find out what's wrong, you need to disassemble the unit with a screw driver and check what's wrong. You will be needing a meter in order to test the components on the power board, once you detect any bad component, you can make necessary replacement at any electronics accessories store within your vicinity. This is the only way by which you can detect the problem.

Of course, testing the power board with a meter will require someone that has the ability. So it you can't, then you might be needing the help of a repairman or you can call a friend that has the ability to help you out.

I wish you the best of luck.

Power shuts off when i turn on switch

There can be two possible reasons for this to occur. The first would be that the pitching machine might need more power than that which is available at home, or the machine might be working for a long time and may have got heated up.

High pitched noise/beep on emachine e440 laptop

In Windows 7 ,Try the Power Options in Control Panel. Set to High Performance, select Change Plan settings, set Sleep to never, select Advanced Power settings, scroll through the Advanced Power settings, set Sleep and Hibernate to Never and Power Buttons and Lid to Shut down. Always shut down and unplug the Laptop when not in use to prevent damage due to a power surge and a possible Fire hazard IF the battery malfunctions. Not to mention unnecessary wear on the components.

Panasonic TX32POL1 high pitched noise

The high pitch sound is comming from a power supply transformer that will resonate (or vibrate) at the operating frequency (12-14KHz).
This is usually affordable to repair -at least worth the estimate.

High pitch sqealing noise

This is caused be a bad record switch. As a temporary solution, incert a blank tape, push the record switch, then stop. Repeat about 10 times. This may clean the contacts of the record/Play switch but it will probably need to be replaced.
