Question about Computers & Internet

I have a hp dv6 1053cl laptop and I am trying to replace the screen. The screen I bought is a LTN160AT06 but once I opened the laptop the old screen is a LTN160AT02, and the new screen's back doesnt look like the old one. It is missing some conector piece I think.

No brightness visible on screen, but positioning at an nagle you could faintly see the proram open.Tried adjusting light dimmer but tono avail.e

Hello,

try pressing Fn + F8 to increase the screen brightness and Fn + F7 to reduce brightness.

If this does not make any difference, then it means your screen bulb is dead and needs replacement.

Once you replace your screen bulb, your screen will brighten up again.

Good luck.

I broke my laptop screen for my HP pavilion D7-1245DX. In order to avoid paying 500+ dollars to best buy just to fix the screen...I bought a replacement, but i cant figure out for the life of me how to...

Find a different computer-store with a qualified technician,
rather than risking your laptop, if you don't know 'HOW' to do it CORRECTLY and SAFELY.

Since you seem to have "saved" a bundle already,
spend some of those "savings" by renting the technician's services.

Last week, a local computer-store replaced my laptop's LCD screen,
and charged me for "one hour of labour", namely $60.

The store could have supplied a brand-new LCD screen for $200,
but they had a "used" screen on-hand, for $100.

So, "$500" seems far too expensive.

Hello There is chance of serious problem with the screen of the Your laptop. This problem is often seen in case of HP laptop which are more then 6-7 months old. So if the laptop is under warranty they(customer care) will replaced the screen for free. If not the will charge few $ and provide you with original screen. Please check with the vendor from where you have bought your laptop. Regards Gizokieth

Screen replacement.taking the old off and installing the new

OK this is sorta ez and hard. Before you start unplug and take out battery. Ok on most laptops on the top part of the keyboard area is space where there are buttons for volume/power/etc. That piece comes off by using a tiny screw driver. Look for a little dip in the plastic it unsnaps there by popping it up. once this is off you remove the keyboard by removing either the 2 or 3 screws that hold it down. Now dont yank the keyboard out since there is data cable you need to pull out. By holding the keyboard in 45 degree you can pull the data plug from its socket. Now you have the keyboard out and from there u can see that there is a cable that runs to your lcd. Unplug it. That was the worst part of the ordeal. Now close your LCD and turn the lappy over and directyl under the lcd hinge under the laptop should be a tiny bolt holding the hinge down. Remove those and then open the laptop up at and try to pull the LCD out if it still dont come out then there are 2 more screws on each hinge u need to remove. Now it should come off. VIola its done now just put back the new one in same fashion. First hinges

HP Pavilion DV1000 Screen Replacement

Here's the HP manual for it, too many instructions to post and the pictures should be helpful. Just take your time, figure out what you're going to do twice and then do it once. Much cheaper to take a few hours longer than you'd figured on than to fix a self-made problem:

Hp dv5000 problem

ill suggest o you like many technician do when they messed around their workstation...
if that what you have done is similar to a desktop replacement of ram probably you just knocked out some of the components inside...

first thing check the specs of your old ram and compare it to your new ram... its not just buying the higher capacity but also considering the type of ram you are buying... you can't just put oddly different rams to replace the old one just because its has higher capacity... go to the store where you bought the new ram and show them your old ram for an assistance, hopefully the guy selling the ram knows what type of ram you really need (they should ask you that on the first place).

if the two rams you bought are similar to each other then you save your time going back to the shop where you bought the new ram... just open your system and make sure everything sets firm and if you can just the ram out and get a brush.... brush the dirt out of the connectors and use an eraser to your ram and erase the contact points...

if this helps just rate me to give thanks ok...
