You will need a gas line filter, but there may be other problems the pros from the Tank can answer.
Otherwise call plumber before the problem sparks a fire or explosion.

Difficult to get too specific without knowing if you have gas or oil. Also, I am going under the assumption you mean the burner shuts down, not the whole heating system. That being said, all heating appliances have whats called a safety curcuit. Each control has the ability to shut down if certain critera are not met. There is a sensor that senses light down the blast tube. If no light is sensed in a predetermined time period, then the sensor cuts power to the burner. This stops delivery of fuel so if it does ignite you wont blow up.
(I suspect that the ignitor and burner shut down simultainously.)
It may be the sensor (cad cell eye) is doing its job, however why is the question. Could be a number of things including the fuel delivery, ignition, improper air adjustment, etc.
No qualified professional should diagnose a problem unless they are in front of the appliance. I recommend you find a licensed qualified heating techician. Hope this helps.

I have a new Atwood G6A-7 water heater. The pilot lights fine but gas flow, when it turns on, is so strong it will blow the pilot out. Certain times, it sounds and looks like a mini fire ball going

Clean burner tube with proper brush, such as long spring type for bar-b-Q burner tube that are available at most hardware stores, and make sure you have new burner tube aligned properly (straight on) with brass orifice on gas control. Then be sure to adjust air shutter for nice blue flame, with little orange at tip. Do not give so much air that flame roars or jumps off the end of the burner tube. Too many people think more air, less fuel, but actually, when flame roaring and jumping off end of tube, the heat passes through faster and it takes longer to heat the water inside the tank. Like I said, only enough air to have quiet, steady blue flame. If your not giving it enough air, you'll see dark soot on trailer above water heater, which indicates burning too rich, need more air, or perhaps pilot is partially plugged. Pilot flame should also be blue, not yellow/orange. Small air intake hole on side of fitting just before pilot tube can get spider web, or debris in it as well. Use air to blow that out or a piece of wire like a paper-clip to clean inside that hole.

The accumulation of condensation in the vent piping is more than likly the problem. I am guessing the vent piping is either 3-inch or 2-inch. You need to splice in a "T" fitting reduced down to 3/4-inch with a 3/4-inch tubing attached and run this to a sutible drain. This will drain the condensation elimiating the accumulation in the vent assembly. Install this "T" fitting about 3-feet down stream from the vent motor. These supples and fittings can be found at a Home Depot or Lowes store.

You may have a plugged orifice in the pilot tube assy. If you have any way of getting to the orifice with compressed air, and blow back, it may dislodge it, if it is plugged. If possible, carefully remove pilot tube at valve end first, so that if it is debris in there, it blows clean of the tube, so it won't clog again. Otherwise you'll have to remove complete assy. Another thing to try as well, is to shut valve off, loosen fitting at valve for pilot tube, AND MAKING SURE NO FLAME OR SPARK ANYWHERE IN THE AREA, take a spray bottle with dish soap and water mixed (bubble tester) and then spray at pilot fitting when it is loose, and push pilot, to see if any bubbles appear, indicating gas flow. If no flow there, then I'd get a new gas valve.

My rheem criterian ii wont ignite i hear the click for when it is supposed to light but then does nothing?

check the pressure differential switch. This is a black unit with 2 wires and a small plastic tube coming out of it. The small tube goes to the exhaust flue and the 2 wires go into the control. If this switch fails, it constantly tells the unit that the flue is blocked. You can tell if this is the problem by using a continuity tester on it... when you ****/blow you should alternately get continuity and no continuity. You can also jump the leads and see if it ignites. Obviously make sure the flue is clear before you do this. If you have to replace it they are readily available. Tripp

How to check if pressure switch on halstead boiler 82 combi

Hi I am thinking what your tryig to say is the air pressure switch?
you can check this switch to see if the boiler works by removing one of the sensing tubes from it & by sucking on or blowing as this willactivate the switch you dont have to do it very hard, just gently as you will hear the switch clicking, if the boiler does fire when you click, in order for it to continue to ignite you may have to fold over the tube, when you release it the boiler should stop.if it does work then you will have to change the air pressure switch, but remember this can only be done by a Corgi Engineer
