Question about EuroTech EWC177 Front Load Washer / Dryer

1 Answer

My daughter was using the machine, we believe she overloaded it. At the beginning of the cycle, it was very loud trying to turn the load and then there was a smell like thing was burning. We stopped it, powered down, unplugged it, emptied the clothes, and drained it from the front filter door and tilted it forward to drain a bit more. Then waited fifteen minutes and plugged it in, powered up and the front panel lights flashed four times, fast, then all the lights went out, even the power light. We went through the same procedure and the lights flashed once, then nothing. We have had it unplugged since. We called local appliance shops none were interested, called the number in the manual for nearest repair shop, two in a city 2.5 hours away. One was out of business, the other was on holiday for a week; we left a message with second. They called back last week, said they do not work on Eurotech and suggested we try your online service and may have to order parts from your site. Does it sound like a blown fuse? Will the parts available at our local hardware store?

Hello, if it's total dead then it could have blown the fuse. it will be a glass type in the washers power supply. that smell could be the motor burnt out. which can cause a short to ground cause the fuse to blow check the belt at the back might have come off or snaped hope it helps

It is overload error.
"oL" (Over Load)
Is the washer overloaded? The washer has attempted to fill •
and begin the wash cycle. If the washer is overloaded, it will
drain any water and detergent that was added during the fill.
To correct the overload, remove several items and add
detergent. Close lid and press START.

Also try to download user manual from this site and check page 19.

Machine screeches loudly when wash and rinse cycle begin

does it do it on a spin cycle ? if so your bearings may be shot. also try running it empty if it doesn't do it then you may of just had an unbalanced load. if it dose then you probably had shot bearings.

In the Spin cycle, after 9 minuts, it will stop with a "UL".

"UL" means "Unbalanced Load" - make sure the washer isn't overloaded first or if you are doing rugs, blankets, or lots of jeans, split the load. You can also try running an empty or light load and see how the machine behaves.

If you still have the problem, you may have some issues with the drum bumpers, etc., but try the easy things first.

Loud knocking sound when in wash cycle GEWDSR2080

After taking off the front cover, look up at the top of the tub just under the lid. there should be a thick rubber strap at each corner of the machine tying in the tub to the top. These are called dampening straps. One or more may be broken. I usually replace all four if I do one.

Turn off ALARM - Whirlpool washer

This sounds like the imbalanced load alarm. This can occur with large heavy loads like blankets, bedding, lots of diapers (cloth), jeans etc. The best solution is to wash lighter loads and not overload the machine. If overloading continues, the machine could be damaged.

Washing machine very loud and machine moves during spin cycle

Normal these mean unbalance load of clothes. Try to balance it with heavy clothes opposite each other. The fabric that hold more water tend to be heavier during the spin cycle. Also try not to overload the machine by washing clothes just half to 3 quarters full
