Question about Samsung CLX-3175FW Multifunction Laser Color Printer

Hello - I'm having problems with my Samsung CLX-3175FW printer. I purchased it in August, 2009 and it has been working well on my LAN. Today I tried to scan something, only to discover that any sort of scanning, faxing or copying produces a document with pale, vertical, multicolored lines. Printing is entirely unaffected, but anything which is being produced by placing an item on the flatbed (something printed using copy mode, or something scanned to the desktop or to a USB stick) produces nothing but lines. It was producing a blank page, but I cleared the printer's system settings and now it gives me lines. Any help appreciated!

I think the scanner is dirty (and lamp glass inside), try to clean it, gently with a cloth (cotton), fine print that if if that ok

    I don't think its a cleaning issue. The stripes are some sort of noise being produced which is interfering with the scan. There is no hint of the image actually being scanned. Thanks for the response though!

Left margin cuts off

Try changing the left margin size in the page setup. Decrease the left margin size.

You could also try printing in Landscape instead of Portrait just to see if it captures the left margin.

I have Samsung CLX 3175 laser printer. Am getting invalid toner message although parts are genuine

Well, eventually I worked it out: The "contacts" are four square fields to the left on on the backside of the cartridge. And it works instantly. (I read somewhere that it needs to be fully transparent tape. The 'blurry' tape leads electricity and doesn't work.)

Our office has a pretty new Samsung CLX-3175FW. Right now it states "REPLACE/INSTALL TONER WASTE BIN" I have no idea where that is located or what its function might be. Can you help me? No one else...

the toner waste bin in in the toner bay on the left hand side. It simply pulls out. You can purchase a replacement or just dump all the old waste toner out. It can be a little messy. It works with an "electric eye"

you need to get into technical mode, simply press menu > # > 1 > 9 > 3 > 4 and then press ok tech should be shown on the lcd screen, now go to the menu and data setup, look for memory clear or clear all memory, it should ask you for a destination country, if you choose your country at this prompt and press ok it should accept the toner
