Question about Creda Ovens

Am replacing oven door m/s due striker failure (bakelite broken) and have been sent a different swicth with six v four connections. Sw is double m/s assy IMS-6225567. M/s operation makes white leads and breaks yellow on broken m/s which only has 4 connectors. New m/s has 6 connectors. What are the correct connections for the new switch?

Thanks for your help. I have sorted the problem out. The replacement switch is a "stacked" pair of m/s's, one rigged to close the door circuit (white) with the door closed, the other just provides a pair of contacts for the other pair of wires. The active switch I connected to the white make/break wires and the non active to the other pair. Thanks again, Frank

Hi,, the new switch is more than likely a bi-spst switch, the switch should have the same color code wires connect them the ones that remain will send power with the switch id disengaged. just tape them off. If the ires dont match , line the switch up in the same manner the old one came out. See how the old wire connected in that order ?? good connect the new one in that same way.

Hi, the elements on my duke e101-e 240v single phase convection oven keep going out every 3 to six months...is there any other reason why they would go out so often?

Check that the elements are high quality, dont use cheap elements, also replace all the elements and all are working, do not leave the door open while heating for along time. Do not power cold water on them while hot to clean let them cool down gradually.make sure the termina conection to are not loose during replacement. swicth off when you dont need to use for a long

Oven door not closing properly

If it is a drop down door with hinges on the bootom of the oven door, then it is likely to be weak door hinge springs, the usual solution is to replace both hinges.
If it is a swing open door, then the problem is related to a worn or broken door catch, or worn striker pin.

Top oven glass in door is broken (thermadore).

Hi,
Your oven model number is usually located on the rim of one of the oven doors or on the frame oaround a door. Some ranges with bottom drawers have the model number on the frame behind the drawer.

Here is a tip that I wrote about replaceing your glass....

Oven door won't stay closed

You don't state the exact model but on every oven I've ever fixed this problem on it's a broken door striker catch. Depending on your model, the catch will either be in the oven door or in the oven body; usually they're straightforward to replace but on older ovens spares can be almost as rare as dodo ****. Usually what breaks is a hardened tempered metal spring, so when they're not available as spares I can usually visit a local spring making company and get someone to make one up as a one-off using the fragments of the old one as a pattern. After the catch has been replaced the striker itself (usually a specially shaped pin) may need to be adjusted to engage correctly once more. Undoing the lock nut and screwing it in and out adjusts the depth, and is done after the striker catch has been adjusted side to side or up and down to meet the centre of the striker.

My whirlpool double oven lower door won't stay closed all the way. model RBD305PD810. is there an adjustment that is needed?

If it is a drop down door, then you need to replace both door hinges, if it is a door that opens sideways, then it is probably the door catch, or door striker that needs to be replaced.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

KitchenAid Built-in microwave middle glass shattered

not a problem, first you can refer to your user manual as to how to remove door, (pg 21) heres a link if you misplaced it.
http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/assets/pdfs/literature/Use%20and%20Care%20Guide%20-%204456573.pdf

then Ill include this link as well, which is apart breakdown for your GENERAL oven, and i do this so you can see the different panes of glass( ther are 4 of them inthe oven door, each one different so ordering hte right one will be half the battle. http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/assets/pdfs/literature/Repair%20Part%20List%20-%208186032.pdf
the numbers after you model example, kemc308kss** (01,02,03,04) these last 2 digits will also determine which glass you actually have

http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/product_literature/search_results.jsp?searchTerm=kemc308kss&siteCd=WHRCOM
Once the door is off and you have the correct glass, changing the glass is nothing more then reomving screws from the door frame, layer by layer until you get to the broken pane, not real difficult at all

Cleaning Inside Glass Oven Door of KitchenAid KEMC308KSSO

To dismantle the kitchenaid pro line oven door: there is a lever over the hinges that attach a door to the oven. The lever is right on top of the hinge. Pull the lever up. When that lever is in the up position, you can pull the door out.
