Drain old gas out and clean the carb out, should run like new then

I finally emptied out the gas, took the carberator appart and everything looked ok.

I then realized that the gas line from the tank came down to the suhtoff valve then horizontal to the engine. I put the valve horizontal which was the off position. Putting the valve vertical corrected the problem and the washer ran for hours after that.

So all those insulting comments for help desks like is the computer plugged in really are necessary.

Stihl winterize pressure washer

To winterize , be sure to run all of the gas out of the unit... also make sure no water is left on the pump. If so, the water will freeze and expand causing blown seals when you try and start it next season, you won't have any pressure... DO NOT USE STABIL.

Remive all gas, even from the carburetor... to do that, loosen bottom bolt on the bowl of the carburetor and let the gas leak out...OR run it until it stalls from being out of gas... keep your plug in, don't remove it. Some people do BUT it's silly to do so because it allows debris to fall into the hole and which could damage the cyclinder walls...

I keep mine in my basement to take no chances.. if you have a basement, you won't have to worry about wintering since it will be warm enough inside... especially if you have an expensive Stihl, lol, I would.

How do I winterize Gas high pressure washer.

Pump will freeze in cold weather from water left in sump. Get it running and instead of hooking it up to a water hose, use a short length to take a gallon of so of antifreeze.

What do I have to do to winterize my pressure washer? It will be in an unheated shed all winter.

Gasoline goes bad after sitting for an extended period of time.
Old school people would drain the gas out of the tank but found this lead to rust forming in the tank.
Now it is best to fill the tank with high octane gas and use a winterizing fuel additive to prevent problems.
Also remove any water from the hoses.
In the spring replace the gas and change the oil and you should be good, changing the spark plug would also be beneficial.

Although this costs a little money, it covers most home gas/electric and industrial portable kerosine/diesel fired hot water pressure washers. Worth sharing... ">
