Question about Maytag Kitchen Ranges

2 Answers

I own a Maytag electric range. The metal strip that holds the glass on the oven door is corroded....falling apart. The local Maytag repairman told me the part is discontinued. I want to remove the door and have a new strip made. I took out the 2 screws inside the door but it doesn't slide out.

HI there. If you are sure that you have removed all of the screws from the strip you should be able to pry it out. The strip should be pressed in or slid in from the side. Try lightly prying it away from the door using one or more prybars of flathead screwdrivers.

Hi

First make sure the appliance is off and the inside of the oven is cool. Now slowly open the oven door out to the first position where it stays open on its own, which is called the broil stop position. The oven should remain open about four inches. Grasp the lower part of the sides of the oven door, and slowly lift up until the door is clear of the hinge arms. Never lift the oven door by the handle, which could shatter the glass in the door.

Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.

How to clean inside glass oven door

Taking the door off the oven and lay door on a soft surface so as to prevent scratching ,taking the door apart ( Carefully ), allow for a large work space, lay out your screws, the glass you are trying to reach is an inner glass, so obviously self clean is not going to help. Good luck!

There are stains between the glass of the upper oven door

Sadly the only solution is to strip down the door and clean the glass. It's a lot of effort for little return and you should re gasket the door afterwards to re seal it, but there is no guarantee it won't happen again. Contact Maytag to complain here:

I'm trying to put the oven door back together and it won't fit properly. any ideas? This is a whirlpool electric range mod# RF364PXPQ.

I had mine apart to clean and could not figure out how it went back together. The side strips I thought helped hold the glass in but they dont. I then discovered the side plastic strips go back in on the flip side-inner oven side. Grrrrrrrrr...wasted half a day trying to figure this out.

Smeg se336ss 5 some so and so has broken the outer glass door!

We removed the front glass of our oven door after a big spill between the two glass sections (by blunt force!). Since it took us 4 hours to put back together, we wanted to spread the info in case any others have the misfortune to make this mistake! Note, I wouldn't do this unless you have to, just incase you can't get your door back together again.

Assuming the back sheet of oven glass is still in position, but the front sheet is not attached -

1. Follow the manual instructions to remove the door, ensuring that both hinges are locked fully (otherwise you won't be able to get the door back on easily)

2. Once the door is removed, ensure that the plastic spacers that hold the two sheets of glass apart are in original position, resting on the inner door, at the bottom corners of the tempered glass

3. Remove the narrow metal strip at the bottom of the inner door by unscrewing the 3 screws that hold it in place. This is the metal groove that the outer pane of glass needs to rest in

4. Lay the outer sheet of glass in position in this metal strip

5. Lay the outer sheet of glass over the inner door. Slot the outer sheet into position at the top of the inner door first, ensuring it is layed flush at the top.

6. A second person needs to ease the metal strip back into place at the bottom of the inner door, so that the two sheets of glass are now held together at both top and bottom.

7. Screw the metal strip back into position with the 3 screws

8. Follow the manual instructions to replace the door. Ensure that the small grooves at the bottom of both hinges are resting in position correctly, otherwise the door will not close flushly.

The metal bars go under the top door handle part, put them under the part you need to screw back in.

I have the same problem. Two years ago the service representative came to my house to replace the door seal in my upper oven. He had to take the door apart to remove and replace the part. I used that opportunity to clean the interior glass partitions. I watch how he took it apart and put it back together again. I would not recommend trying it yourself. Also, local service reps. would clean it for you for a nominal fee. The problem is taking the bigger heavier door in which I have to do with mine.

Cleaning Inside Glass Oven Door of KitchenAid KEMC308KSSO

To dismantle the kitchenaid pro line oven door: there is a lever over the hinges that attach a door to the oven. The lever is right on top of the hinge. Pull the lever up. When that lever is in the up position, you can pull the door out.

you need to remove the door. On your model just grab the door and lift and it should lift right off. Then remove the screws that run along the bottom of the door. Remove the bottom trim and the glass should slide down and off. Reverse to assemble
