Check the following:

Is the machine level?
- Adjust the feet until you cannot move it freely from side to side with your bare hands.

Open the front door, feel the inner drum by pressing with your hand firmly at the base of the drum in up and down movements, does it feel unstable? If it does:
- Either the shocks need replacing (Not Common), or the Spindle or Spider as it is referred to is broken, seek replacement of these parts.

Kind Regards, and Good Luck

Washer makes a rattling noise when spinning

Hi

If its rattling check the drum for anything caught in it.Washing machine noise is not only annoying, it can also be a sign of serious damage. When armed with a few tips, you can determine what problem may be causing your washing machine to rattle, and what you can do to stop it.
Check for drum bearing failure if your washing machine is noisy on the spin cycle. Drum bearing failure is common when the bearing seals start allowing water to enter. You can take the belt off and spin the drum by hand, and if the drum rumbles, replace the bearings.

Turn the drum by hand and listen for loud noises. If the drum itself is split or the 'spider' is corroded, broken or has come apart from the back of the drum it will create a loud noise on every turn of the drum. (When the bearings have gone bad, the noise is constant the entire time the drum is spinning.)

Look for obvious dents and creases in the drum or look for coins or small objects stuck inside the tub underneath the drum when a horrendous noise is made while clothes are in the tub.

Clear the water pump from obstructions like coins or small objects when a noise occurs while the washing machine is emptying water.

Remove the sump hose and look for bra wires if you hear a light scraping noise when the drum is turned by hand. You can also check to make sure a wire isn't poking out of one of the holes in the drum. In this case, you can pull the wire out easily with pliers.

Take the belt off and run the motor alone if you hear a high pitched squealing noise to check for motor bearing damage or wear. If you still hear the noise without the belt, it's the motor bearing.

My Ariston A1636S Is making a very loud crackling or rattling noise when it spins. Almost like something is loose inside it. I've checked and nothing has fallen into the drum. Can someone help?

Remove the dive belt, and spin the drum by hand, if it feels rough or is noisy, then the main drum bearings have failed, if no noise, then look elsewere.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

Water leaking and loud noise and rattling on final spin cycle

Turn the drum by hand and if you hear any noises it is the rear bearing. If there is no noise then remove the front bottom panel and take out the coin trap on the pump and check those hoses.

Washing machine makes a loud rattling sound

Hi.k.
Even though you have cleaned filter, there could still be something in the pump, you need to remove the pump and check there is nothing in it.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.

Rattling noise during spin cycle

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

I have a kenmore 70 series washer, the machine won't spin. I hear the clutch but it's not engaging. The pump to remove the water seems to be operating but the tub just won't spin and makes a loud noise.

The loud noise (sounds like rattling or grinding) is the motor coupler. It's between the motor and the transmission. This part takes the place of the belt, and costs about $20.00.

Good luck!

Loud Noise - Spin Cycle

If the washer is making a squealing noise, the problem is more likely to be the basket drive. If it is more like a rattling sound, the centerpost bearings are probably worn out. Open machine's rear panel and spin the basket manually by turning the drive pulley, to find out from where exactly the noise come from. Defective part should be replaced. Good luck !!
