Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Hello, I have a Dell GX 110 tower computer with a 002tr pentium 3 motherboard. I am looking for the memory size of the onboard video adapter (4mb?) and would like to add a compatible external PCI (120 pin) video card for better performance. I have 512mb of ram and a 200W power supply, so I realize my options are limited. Thank you, mdshee

The onboard video-adapter probably is in the range of 2MB to 8MB.
Any PCI video-adapter card that you add should be in the range of 32MB to 128MB,
and your power-supply will be able to handle its power-requirements.

I have dell GX 270 computer. there is no display in the monitor.and at the back one of the led lights orange. what is the solution?

As in my other answer, check for blown capacitors on the motherboard. Sounds like there is a power issue with your onboard graphics. You could try another video adapter (PCI or AGP only, these are the slots available to you.)

My dell GX 270 computer has amber mother board light,No display, processor fan runs, power supply fan rotates.

hi ansilesh

If the power light is steady amber - The computer is receiving
electrical power, but an internal power problem might exist.
Ensure that the microprocessor power cable is securely connected to the
system board.
it might also be a failed mainboard already since you are experiencing a blackout.

hope this helps

For mini-tower and Desktop
You should have 4 slots.
4GB is the max if you replace all the sticks.

Upgrade from Pentium 3 to Pentium 4

you will need a new p4 motherboard and processor+(heatsink fan).your memory might still work, depends if its the same or not.
make sure your video and sound card will work with new board,or get a board with onboard sound and video.

Motherboard upgrade for Dell GX150

If the motherboard you have installed accepts a socket 370 processor and you replaced the board, it would also have to be a socket 370 unless you were planning on upgrading the processor also. If you wanted to keep your existing computer case and other hardware, you might want to look for an inexpensive pentium 4 motherbard and processor to replace it instead of the pentium 3 you now have. If you get a new board that uses the same memory that you now have installed it would be a relatively inexpensive upgrade.

Id your motherboard also has onboard video, and you have a graphics card, make sure that you try both connections. Chances are if you are using a graphics card and your computer thinks your using onboard, then you will get the no signal or vise versa.
