Question about Dryers

We have a zanussi TC470 tumble dryer, it heats up at first but once we have left the clothes to dry for 70mins, we find that the clothes are still wet & the door has opened on the machine. Can anyone suggest the problems ??

Where is the thermista on a zanussi tc.470 please

The fixed thermostat on the Heater is probbaly faulty. (not the one with the reset button) I believe it is a Normall closed 80degree thermostat. What happens is they open when they get too hot and reset when they cool down. Probably broken. Worth replacing. Could be the one with the reset butti=on but as thye need a manual rest, probably not.

E15 error code on hoover tumble dryer

Controls
  • The control unit on the tumble dryer will vary among different makes and models. The main purpose of the controls is to allow the user to select the drying cycle. You can choose the time and temperature setting on most units, while others allow custom settings such as moisture sensors and end-of-cycle alert signals. The controls may include a dial or a touch panel and LED screen display. Some tumble dryers allow you to independently select the appropriate time for the load you are drying and separate programs for temperature.
Motor
  • The motor inside the tumble dryer spins the basket to allow the clothes to tumble while being dried. The tumbling action allows the air to pass through the clothing to dry them faster. Heating laundry that is stagnant will likely dry the clothing on the outside while leaving damp clothing inside the pile. The constant motion, along with the heat and steam created by heating the clothing, reduces wrinkles. The motor also powers the fan that delivers the heated air to the basket of laundry. The heater can be an electrical element or gas powered.

My zanussi TD4212W is tumbling but not drying the clothes.

Check the heating element, I'm sure it has burnt through.

Clothes not drying

Clothes not drying? Thats it? Does the dryer turn on at all? Does it tumble the clothes but doesn't get warm? If it turns on and tumbles but takes a long time to dry, then your heating element is not working. There is a thermal fuse right before the heating element that will open up if the vent becomes clogged and its gets too hot. The thermal fuse is not resettable and will have to be replaced. If the thermal fuse is o.k. then your heating element could be burned out. These two items almost require an electrical meter to read continuity to check them. Make sure the dryer is unplugged before checking these items.

Dryer working but no heat

Your dryer has two separate fuses, one to turn the drum, and one to heat it. It sounds like you have a broken fuse. Unless this is a new installation, then you need to make sure you have the proper electric cord attached. If it's mistakenly connected with a range cord, it won't supply enough power to the dryer.
