This only takes about a minute and will restart 1 in 3 "Dead" Original Remote Controls.

Step 1- Pull the batteries out of the remote and leave them out until Step 4.

Step 2- Press and release each and every button one at a time on the remote control until every button has been pressed and released at least once!

Step 3- If your remote has slide switches, you must move the switch to
each position then repeat the button pushing in Step 2.
(When you're done, be sure to put the slide switch in the correct position to operate the unit the remote came with!)

Step 4- Put the batteries back into the remote, being very careful to install them correctly.
New batteries should be used if you're not sure about the old ones.

Step 5- Try the remote.

Special Note:

If you have a digital camera, camcorder or camera phone you can test the remote to see if it is emitting a signal. Face the remote towards the lens of the digital unit until you can see the front of the remote. Depress any button on the remote. You should see a light (steady, blink or flashing) being emitted from the remote.
If you do then the problem might not be the remote but the sensor on the set.

You can search for another remote by using the links below.

04 Chrysler Concorde wnt start I changd the battery it wrked for 2 days nw won't start was coming off the I car started to over heat now wn't crank took it to shop they say I ned a new motor

If it overheated and won't crank it means that the motor is ceased and would need a complete strip and rebuild if possible depends on damage caused and costs
may be cheaper to fit a used motor and get someone to look at the ceased motor for a quote on a rebuild
most important thing is to find out why it was overheating

Does, "batteries ok" mean that you've replaced the battery in your remote? If not, worth doing.

New Bright, F-150, Red Thunder 4X4: Truck goes into "static" mode when forward or reverse is pushed on remote. In other words, truck starts up when turned on, steering, horn and lock work fine,...

Get new battery, I have 4 batteries, all will turn it on, get horn lights, sound. 2 do the exact same thing yours is doing, 1 runs about 5 min then starts into your problem, 1 is good and will run for about 20 mins.

Remote has ceased working. replaced batteries to no avail..anything else that i should check...yes the unit i splugged in and works manually LOL

Sounds like the lens on the end of the remote may be dirty...or possibly the reciever window is blocked or dirty as well. No insult intended , but did you check the direction the batteries are installed? Remember the flat side always goes to the side the spring is on and they are almost installed in opposite directions! Hope this is helpful please let me know. Thanks!

Key fob is not switching off alarm or lockin the vehicle, Mitsubishi Shogan Sport 2003, I have changed battery in the fob

  • Check your remote to see whether it is held together by a small Philips-head screw. If so, remove it. Look at the join seam that runs along the middle of your remote. Search for a small indentation in which your miniature flathead screwdriver can be inserted. If not, use the seam itself, and gently pry it apart with your flathead screwdriver.
  • Spray the inside of the remote with canned air to remove any debris. Remove the battery, and dispose of it unless it is relatively new. It should be replaced when you re-assemble the fob.
  • Remove the button pad from the top of the remote, and using the alcohol with cotton swabs, clean around the buttons and the plastic frame it fits in to make sure it's clean. Lay it aside for it to dry.
  • Remove the remote's interior circuit board. Generally, the problem with remotes is that the contacts have worn thin and have ceased to make a proper electrical contact with the rest of the remote. These contacts are usually gold in color. Clean these with the cotton swabs and alcohol. Reassemble your fob, and check to see whether it works.
  • Reopen the fob if the clean contacts did not make a difference. To rebuild the contact surface, do one of several things: First, use a tiny bit of metallic paint applied gingerly with a paint brush or build up the contact surface by rubbing it with a pencil. Another solution is to use conductive coating, which is available at electronic shops. Let it dry 12 hours before re-assembling the fob and checking to see if it works.

  • Replace your battery, and close your key fob by pressing the two halves back together. It should click back into place. Replace any screws removed upon disassembly.

Got a RCA Guideplus gemstar iniversal remote for an RCA analog TV that is at least 10 years old. Remote has ceased to work despite changed batteries. I'm wondering if it has met its destiny or if it can be...

check to make sure the ifrared lenses are cleaned on both tv and controller, if smuged or dirty, it will impede the rays from making contact. or could be one or both of the lenses have ceased to work, outside that, there is only replacement or repair..sorry..

I drop my dish remote control on the floor and it dont work,, want should i do

If you dropped your remote and it ceased to work, you might check the batteries to make sure they are seated securely in the battery compartment. If they are, press the select button on the remote to see if any buttons on the top of the remote lights up. If they don't you will need a new remote. You can call 1-800-333-3474 and speak with Tech Support. I hope this helps.

    Menu button on remote

First step unless you did it already, is replace the batteries in the remote with new high quality batteries. Make sure they are installed correctly. and fit properly.
If that fails it's either a failure with the remote or in the infrared circuitry in the VCR.
A cheap test is to buy one of those cheap universals and attempt to perform a setup.
The procedure with those universals is they give you a bunch of code numbers for your brand of VCR and you try them one by one until you hit the one that will shut off the VCR. You have to have turned on the VCR manually before starting the procedure.
If no code turns off the the unit (make sure the universal has new batteries) then it's probably a failure in the VCR itself.
Universals can be found for a few dollars at dollar stores ect.
