Question about Sharp DT-400 Multimedia Projector

Open Question

I have a Sharp DT-400. It doesn't have an air filter. Would it help if I placed a small filter in front of the intake or would that block too much air?

Hi I have a 1974 dt 360s that needs a new RH front fork and as the DT 175 runs the same size 21 inch front wheel as the dt 175s does that mean the front forks are interchangeable ? I have only been able to...

no not really,the diameter of the fork tubes are probably different,maybe a dt 400 would be closer,replace them in pairs,dont replace only 1,the spring rate & dampening is different,try junk yards in your area,get a complete front end from a dt 400,it should fit.

Problem with autolube pipe 1999 yamaha dt 125 air cooled

it will rev cause it is sucking air where the oil pipe used to be. the tube will be close to the rubber intake, if not on the intake itself

Can you please tell me how many turns I will give to the air intake of my srx 400 carburetor? I observed when i gave full trotle the speed will slow down.I changed the spark plug with new one but the same...

1.5 to 2 turns out.sounds like its choking,pull out spark plug is it black?If so check air filter is not blocked or the airbox intake isnt covered by anything. Hope this healps

Having trouble replacing air filter cover with new filter in place.

this can be a pain for sure if attempting with air intake hose still installed on filter housing cover. try to loosen hose clamp remove intake hose and reassemble.

Backfire in an automobile engine typically results from various malfunctions related to the air fuel ratio. Backfiring can occur in carburetor engines that are running lean where the air-fuel mixture has insufficient fuel and whenever the timing is too advanced. As the engine runs leaner or if there is less time for the fuel to burn in the combustion chamber, there is a tendency for incomplete combustion. The condition that causes this is a misfire. The result of a misfire or incomplete combustion is that unburned fuel or flammable hydrocarbons are delivered to the exhaust manifold where it may ignite unpredictably.

When starting an engine, timing that is too advanced will fire the spark plug before the intake valve is closed. The flame front will travel back in to the intake manifold, igniting all of that air and fuel as well. The resulting explosion then travels out of the carburetor and air cleaner. A common air filter will allow the gases to escape, but will block the flame front. On many small marine engines, no air filter is used, but a screen is placed over the intake of the carburetor as a flame arrest to prevent these flames from escaping the intake, and potentially igniting fuel, or fuel vapors in the enclosed sump or bilge of the boat and causing a fire or explosion. Improperly adjusted carburetors that create a lean condition during acceleration can cause the air fuel mixture to burn so slowly, that combustion is still taking place during the exhaust stroke, and even when the intake valve opens. The flame front can then travel up the intake and cause a backfire. In this situation it is conceivable that there is a backfire occurring in the intake manifold and exhaust manifold simultaneously.

its in the air flow meter sensor or whatever you call it thats in the between the air filter and the inlet manifold ,I THINK

DT 125 2000 Very poor starter. Stolen recovered so no ignition

had exactly the same prob with my dt 125.

In the fuel tank there were two filters that had become a little blocked with small fragments. I replaced both of these, aswell as the petrol tank and now works perfectly.Worth replacing with every service.

Also make sure the amount of fuel to oil is correct because if there is too much oil it leaves a small layer of oil on the spark plug which gets thicker when the engine cools. When you dip the spark plug in petrol and put it back in it obviosly makes a large enough spark to remove the oil, but repeats itself when the bike cools.
