I have a Biostar P4M900-M7 that reboots. Intel Dual Core, 1GB Ram, Win XP SP3.
Once started, after a while, it reboots. I was trying to figure-out what was causing it but no luck. It reboots almost randomly. I dont know if its the video-intensive, or network-intensive apps ... it just keeps rebooting after a while. Installed SpeedFan to check temps, but the CPUs are at 30-32 celcius which i think is normal ... is it ? I was using the buil-in video, and installed a NVIDIA gForce 6200 and the same think happened. Replaced the 400W PSU with a 500W with a bigger FAN, and it keeps rebooting. Any ideas or recommendations ? Thanks in advance.

Re: PC spontaneously rebbots
Hi rogermx, You’re temperature is great. No trouble there. You can try this with Windows XP. Open system properties. Click on the Advanced tab. Go down to, Startup & recovery. Click the settings button. Remove the green check mark next to: Automatically restart. Click Ok. Than restart your system. The next time you're system does a restart all by its self you should receive an error message on screen. Hopefully you have time to write it down. Post the error message here if you can't find a fix for the error. Windows may need the system to restart a few times before you receive an error message. Try this before I add more suggestions.

i have a ecs g31t-m with a pentium e5200 dual core. i bought the board from ebay and the bios needed to be flashed before it would reconize the processor. after flashing the bios i still had the same problem. i found that in the user manual there is a list of "qualified" ram. before looking at this list i tried some ram that was not on the list and it wouldn't boot. after changing the ram to one that was on the list it finally booted up. however, after getting it to boot and reloading win xp, i cant get any drivers to load for the onboard equipment. so now i'm stuck. i hope this helps and if someone can give me direction on the drivers i'd be in good shape.
Have you Reset you BIOS,because after you build a machine up,the Bios has to be set to Default, and were you grounded with a arm band when you put the parts together?,During the assembly it is paramount that you wear a grounded arm band so that your body electrical discharge does not interfere with the components, you probably have a hardware/software conflict.some thing in the BIOS is most likely left on.or set to hardware.
