One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electic extensions or just replace them they are probably faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error hope this helps

check, whether data cable and power cable to the HDD are intact? then open BIOS and see whether IDE or SATA port enabled? if both fails the HDD is most probably needs replacement.

Hi,
HDD not Detecting only Some region, if you HDD data cable damage, HDD power Cable damage, HDD port damage, or HDD bad sector. But normally you change HDD data or power cable or mother board port. And i suggest mother board all connection disconnect and only HDD connect and open bios and search your HDD detected.

No display after starting, can hear the motor and see cursor but screen is blank

Hi,
I think you HDD not detected. So open bios and see you HDD show or not, if not show then all power off and disconnect hdd cable and change data cable and power cable. Again reconnect and start i hope HDD detected and solve you problem.
Second option is you windows corrupt then this types of message show. lets you check both option solved you problem.

I have a 250gb seagate sata but when i put my 80gb IDE hdd it only detects in booting and in bios but after that if i open my computer i cant see my 80gb IDE Hdd and even in device manager my hard disk was...

there was wrong in the set up of jumper in your 80gb hdd. Look closely to the 80gb harddrive, in between the ide cable terminal and the power supply connector you will see 8pin terminals paired together and a jumper use to short the paired terminals. It is most likely that the jumper was configure to detect your hdd as master. If the ide cable you use for the 80gb hdd was also use for the dvd/cdrom drive then it will conflict with it if both jumper setting was set to master. See the description of jumper settings in the sticker of the hdd. Position the jumper to slave.

Reboot your system again and see if the 80gb finally appear in your system. When system boot upon detection of hdd, the primary master should be 250gb while your primary/secondary slave will be read your 80gb hard disk.

It doesnt show in my computer

Start your computer in BIOS and check if the HDD is detected over there. If no then you need to run a SMART test on the HDD or you need to reinstall the O/s. If the HDD is not detected then you need to reseat the HDD SATA/IDE cable after opening the cabinet. Check again in BIOS if the issue is not resolved then the HDD has gone bad.

Shrey

No HDD Found

First boot to the system setup and see if the Hard Disk Drive is detected in the BIOS. If it is not detected, then the HDD has most likely failed and will need replacement.

If not detected in the bios, open the chassis and reseat the Data and power cables to the HDD
