If the 6 doesn't do anything no space or attempt to print, the key isn't making contact. You can make a temp. repair by gently prying off the 6 key top, make a paper spit ball push it down the hole in the center of the key stem. If the 6 is entering but not printing the 6 spoke is probably bent or broken.

Postscript drivers have very limited features in terms of print drivers. If there are other available, you should use those instead. PCL 6 or 5E would be the best for both Mac and PC and should be available for download from the HP website.

If you are using a PS (post script) print driver, delete it and install the PCL driver (PCL5 or PCL6 if available). May help, not positive. I have seen lots of pdf printing problems with PS or incorrect model drivers.
These drivers are free to download at "support.hp.com"

I have a Xerox 7655 printer and I am trying to use the direct print tabs. After downloading the template and following the instructions exactly, they are printing upside down and backwards. Can someone...

You may need to change the driver. I have seen different issues with machins printing tabs, that changing the print driver will solve. Most of the tab issues are when the driver is a PCL 5 or PCL 6 driver. Switching to a PS driver frequently helps resolve those issues.
The newest drivers would be located on Xerox.com. Go to the home page, select Drivers and downloads, then enter your model number in the search box, and then select downloads and drivers again and select the newest PS driver and install that. I am pretty sure a new fresh PS driver will resolve your problem.
I am including the setup procedure below, I assume this it the process you followed.
Try a new driver. If that doesn't resolve it, possibly the machine firmware itself will need to be updated to the newest version.

The template is set up to provide centered text in the available tab printing area at each position.
At each printing position click to highlight all the text visible on the sheet. Type in the wording you desire and proceed to the next sheet.
When printing the file ignore the warning about margins.
At The Printer:
1) Load the tabs long edge feed with the smooth edge feeding into the machine. The first tab will be on top towards the front of the printer.
2) Set the paper type to [Pre-cut tabs (106-176gsm).
3) Set the number in sequence using the [up/down] arrows for the number of tabs in the set.
4) Set the paper size to [9x11].
5) Select [Confirm].
At The Workstation:
1) Select [File], [Print] and select your printer from the [Printer Name] drop down.
2) Select the [Pages] radio button and set the page range to 2-6.
3) Select the [Paper/Output] tab.
4) Select the [Select Paper] button.
5) Select [Pre-cut tabs] from the [Type] drop down.
6) Set the number in sequence using the [up/down] arrows for the number of tabs in the set.
7) Select the [Layout/Watermark] tab.
8) Select [Fit to New Paper size] and select [9x11] from the drop down.
9) Select [Rotated Landscape] from the [Image orientation] drop down.
10) Select [Ok] twice to print the job.

Access door is open and print cartridge will not slide over so I can replace the ink

Hi,
I've had this happen to me. This is what I did...
1.) close door
2.) leave power ON
3.) unplug
4.) wait 5 minutes
5.) plug back in
6.) push POWER button ON
7.) wait for it to run through its setup
8.) open door and see if that did it

If that doesn't work ... on the OPEN door you will see a small part that sticks out ... this is the part that comes into contact with the switch inside the printer.
Find the switch and move it (usually up and down) with the power ON. Don't worry you won't get shocked I just did it on mine. If the carriage doesn't cycle you then have a problem.

If you need help finding someone to service your printer, let me now.

Hope this helps,

When I type it is printing different letters than I am typing.

On most models there is a pitch switch 10.12.15.PS

you need to match the switch to what print wheel is in the typewriter. most common wheels are 10 or 12
move the switch to that area.

if that is not the problem take out the ribbon, corr. tape & print wheel. tuen on the typ. let it home, put the print wheel & ribbon ( Not the corr. tape) turn on let it home tray typing. if works O.K. put in the corr. tape .
Then you are good to go.

No Ports available

The default IP in the D-Link router is 192.168.1.x
The default IP in the Edimax is 192.168.2.2

Your 3rd octet (the # after 168) has got to be the same for the two of them to communicate.
So, you can either reIP your router, or connect your PC to the print server and change it. The software for the print server should have a tool for finding the PS by MAC address, then you can go in and reset it to 192.168.1.x

It sounds like you have the 10,12,15,PS selector switch on PS with a 10, or 12 print wheel installed. Return to the left margin, move the switch to 10 and type.
