Hi,
a 6ya Repairman can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.

What kind of oil should be used ?

Read the owners manual from the car or call the service department at the local dealer that services the car. Open the hood and find the white label inside the engine bay that tells about the engine displacement, that label might have the type of oil you need. Determining what kind of oil is needed has something to do with your geographic area (how hot or cold it is in your local area) and how much you drive the car....

Oil in the radiator

old post

  1. if you do the service on car, then that is bad. (oil in AF)

  2. if done at JIPHPYboobs. it can be just oil put there.

it will get worse if #1

if #2, go to any real auto shop, ASE shop and get a full flush and fill

to get that gunk out of your engine.

or ask them to do the rad leak down test or exhaust fumes in RAD test.

if all tests pass , its a long distance runner... if not , not.

A leak has developed on my oil filled Dimplex rad is there any way to fix this thanks

Sadly, the short answer is "No, not safely". Because, repairing it won't solve the problem of why it started leaking in the first place.

Sorry, I wish I had better news for you.

Only certain engines need to be purged of the air in there, some engines have a plug on the top for it, some have to be filled on a slant or jacked up, some don't need anything. But you do want to use a premix coolant, 50/50 right out of the jug, or if the old coolant is clean, pour it back in. The tranny oil you don't have to worry about. I would fill it up, keep an eye on the temp gauge and check it every day. If it needs filling, top it off with the same, fill the expansion tank too. If it overheats, then I would check on the purge, It will effect the engine. I can look it up for you, but you can use the google thing too. Hope this helps.

Dimplex oil heater FR24. 2400W oil heater. shorts fuse box

I would suggest that the element may have absorbed some mloisture whilst being left in storage for a period of time. You may need to take it to a local repairer to see if they can dry out the element.

If there is moisture in the element it is not safe to use, hence it trips your circuit breaker.

I have 04 yfz 450 and its overheating.I start it let it idle for 5mins and its overheating I no the coolant is circulating there is no water in the oil

Headgasket leak?If you have not done so already try filling up the rad(when cold) and run the engine with the rad cap off and look for air bubbles, or you could go to a radiator service centre to check for carbon monoxide in the rad.

Please get back to me if you require further asssistance.
